The first TEDx Women event in the City of Vaughan was held on December 5 in the City Hall. This event was simultaneously held in 220 other venues worldwide. It was the third from the series of TEDx events in Vaughan.
Speakers were coming from diverse backgrounds. They were leading change or championing ideas in the fields of Health & Nutrition, Business, Social violence, and Joy of life. While topics were familiar issues of our daily lives but their new perspectives and methodologies resonated with the event’s theme which was “Catalyst for Transformation”.
Carol GREENWOOD, Professor of nutrition at University of Toronto; highlighted the results of her most recent scientific research on the role of nutrition on the brain’s health.
TRACY LEPARULO, Co-Founder at StartMeUp Dago Credit Union, and Executive at Ryerson Entrepreneur Institute, Founder of Traceable Marketing, shared her own initiated works and results in the field of social entrepreneurship in Kenya and for autistic children.
GITA SCHWARTZ, Executive Director of Street Haven, Shared her unique way of resisting to stigma and avoiding violence as the result of it.
ELLEN GÉLINAS, Independent Consultant, Senior Faculty with William Glasser Institute Canada and William Glasser International, showed us how our choices could bring happiness and fulfillment to each one our lives.
