TEDxKiraTown was organized to bring together people to share a TED-like experience in the spirit of “ideas worth spreading. Our Objective was to share ideas that would empower people and elevate their lives. we believe that was met and we look forward to organizing the next event.

This event featured local speakers. Who shared ideas on the theme“Are we there yet?”
Brian a student at Makerere University shared his Journey of developing an Application that enables one diagnose malaria without a prick. Given that Malaria is one of the bidggest killer disease for children, this app will go along away in helping detect malaria and hence enable early treatment of symptoms before they can get worse.
Edward a leading photo journalist in Uganda shared his ideas on how he does documentary photography. Using his blog https://echwaluphotography.wordpress.com/ Edward reaches out to the most remote and underrepresented communities, bring to light what they go through to access basic needs, child labor, maternal health among others.
Then Maurice Kirya also known as MOYO, did what he does best, that is Sing. He presented a spectacular performance through his music.
