Brookhouse BTEC Music Students

Natalie, Nuru, Mumbi, Maya, Mark, and Arianne are all performers from the BTEC Music Course at Brookhouse School.

Juliani

Julius Owino popularly known as Juliani is Kenya’s leading Hip Hop artiste. Some of his songs include, Exponential Potential. “Mulipuko wa emotions”. He is well known for his lyrical prowess, shaking his dreadlocks and his energetic performances which drive the crowd wild.

Aida Mwizerwa

Aida-Gemina is a 17 year old student at Brookhouse School. She believes in equality and respect.

Annet Nyakwada

Annet is a Year 12 student in Brookhouse School.

Ayana Douglas

Ayana, a 16 year old and a student at Brookhouse Schoo. She has been singing since the age of 3 when she performed in San Francisco, USA, at the Mayor's Breakfast. Ever since then, her singing has skyrocketed; thanks to the many people that have assisted her along the way.

Christian Onyando

Christian Onyando is a technopreneur. He studied Physics at the University of Nairobi. Christian lives in Nairobi, Kenya. In his free time, he does stuff like touring with a motorbike from Nairobi to Mombasa.

Cynta is a 19 years old and an A'Level student at Rusinga School, Nairobi.

At sixteen Delphine is a girl with more than enough to say.

Emmanuel Jal

Emmanuel was born in war-torn Sudan, and while he doesn’t know exactly when, he believes it was in the early 1980s. He was taken from his family home in 1987 when he was six or seven years old, and sent to fight with the rebel army in Sudan’s bloody civil war. For nearly five years, he was a “child warrior,” put into battle carrying an AK-47 that was taller than he was.

Ernestas Kolys

Ernestus is a 17 year old student at Brookhouse School. He was born in Lithuania and raised in Ireland until he moved to Kenya at the age of 14. Being exposed to such diverse communities and cultures allowed him to have more than one unbiased mainstream perspective on society and approach to people in general. He says that after taking himself to a world away from mainstream, whether it was books or music, he discovered something in himself that he did not know that he had. “It was like a fire in my soul that emanated from my dislike of all forms of authority and hatred of the corrupt, manipulating government under which I stand.

Ian Munene

Ian is a young enthusiastic character who believes strongly in unity and togetherness. Having witnessed the shocking events that have attempted to break the unity of many nations, he uses his talent of music to spread the word that we are all one.

Ian is currently studying A-level Business, ICT and Math at Brookhouse School.

15 year old Ivy is a student at Brookhouse School.

Kaneda Kimani

Kaneda is an A'Level student at Brookhouse School. ‘Finding ones talent, is quite a challenge'. She is innovative, and is talented in music.

Kylie is 17 years old and a student at Rusinga School.

Moraa Ongwae

Moraa is 15 years old. Her TEDx talk is based on how much happiness one can gain if they become more confident with themselves; if they step out of their comfort zone and do something that they had never done before.

Natalie Munda

Natalie is a Year 11 student at Brookhouse School. The 15 year old describes herself as “a girl with a dream to be able to express myself clearly in front of a large crowd for the longest time”.

Philip Owuor

Philip, 17 years old is in Year 13 at Brookhouse School. He was born in Asmara, Eritrea. He has travelled to Uganda, as well as South Africa, Egypt, Zimbabwe and Tanzania. In 2014 summer, he left Africa for the first time to go to Germany and Austria. He loves studying the human mind in Psychology, as well as Art and German. In his free time he is a video-gaming enthusiast. He likes to draw Japanese Anime characters. He wishes to study gaming design in Germany in the fall of 2015.

Sanna Arman is a spoken word artist who was born and raised in Kenyan but is originally from Sudan & South Sudan.

15 year old Stella is in Year 11 at Brookhouse School. .

Tashanah Muhando

Tashanah is 15 years old and sitting her IGCSE in June 2015 at Brookhouse School. She says that her inspiration for speaking on ‘Beauty as Mass Production’ was that all her life, she has watched people, herself included constantly put down for not looking as society expects them to. She is of the opinion that beauty is diverse.

Veronika Phillips

Fourteen year old Veronika is our youngest TEDx speaker this year. She is very talented in Art and has a great passion for for environmental conservation.
