Ange Hillz

Ange Hillz is a young, emerging artist with an extraordinary ability to evoke emotions through the use of paint and a canvas. As a young boy growing up in Rwanda, Ange Hillz gained inspiration watching his older brother create beautiful pieces of art. His love of art led him to the United States, where he was able to further develop his gift to create vibrant, colorful paintings of celebrities, patriotic figures and sport icons. His diverse body of work includes surrealism, speed painting, and pop art. His style and talent are evident in his newest collection, Life in Colors. He currently lives in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Deb Yoder

Professor of Psychology

Dr. Deb Yoder is a psychology professor at Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Yoder has served over thirty years in higher education as a coach, administrator, and professor. She earned her doctorate in Community College Leadership at the University of Texas at Austin, and she has masters’ degrees in counseling and kinesiology. Her passion is helping others discover how to “be” instead of how to “do,” and bringing the best out in others is a common thread throughout her career and personal life. Deb is a licensed professional counselor supervisor, a Certified Daring Way™ facilitator, an Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator, and Emotional Intelligence Researcher – all of which are skill sets designed to help others discover who they were born to be and what they were born to do—and do it in a state of flow rather than struggle.

Dr. Dwight Randle

Professor of Chemisty and Biology

Dr. Dwight Randle is professor of Chemistry and Biology at Richland College. He taught as a special chemistry instructor for the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland while working on a Ph.D. in biochemistry at the University of Maryland.He has served as Science and Medicine Advisor for the American Heart Association, and as Senior Science Advisor and Director of National Research Grants for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. He served on the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for Baylor Research Institute which is charged with the regulatory and patient protection oversight of clinical research. He has served as a board member on the Dallas Chapter of Sisters Network Inc., breast cancer survivorship organization which advances breast health for women of color. He owns a thriving photography company which specializes in natural landscapes and portraiture.

Dr. Kimi King

Professor of Political Science

Dr. Kimi Lynn King is a Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of North Texas (UNT). Dr. King’s research interests include human and civil rights, international law, conflict resolution, gender studies, and sexual violence. With her husband, Dr. James Meernik, Dr. King has conducted extensive research and study abroad programs in The Hague for the International War Crimes Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). This program won the 2007 American Political Science Association/Rowman & Littlefield Award for most Innovative course. Their research examined the short- and long-term impact on witnesses who testify before the Tribunal. The results of this five-year study will be presented in November 2015.

Naima Montacer

Professor of Biology

Naima Montacer is an environmental writer and passionate biology professor with a Master of Science in biology focused on wildlife.She has created an environmental website at EnviroAdventures.com. Naima is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists and Texas Outdoor Writers Association.

Stacy Vasquez

Professor of Biology

Stacy Vasquez is an adjunct professor of biology at Mountain View College where he teaches introductory biology and microbiology. He obtained his Master of Science in biology with a concentration in microbiology from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. His graduate research focused on the biochemical and molecular identification of Type-V Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureaus (MRSA) and was later published in the Journal of Bacteriology and Parasitology. In addition to teaching, he also attends graduate school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health. After he obtains a Certification in Public Health, Stacy aspires to earn a doctorate in Science Education. His love for education and science is what drives him to be a part of creating a more scientifically literate society.
