In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Sachal Jazz Orchestra
Drawing on influences from Lahore to New York, the Ensemble presents innovative jazz and bossa nova standards from their recent album that has captured musical imaginations with a flood of internet hits. Their fresh re-working of Dave Brubeck's iconic Take Five prompted the jazz legend to exclaim that "this is the most interesting and different recording of Take Five that I have ever heard." Other innovative interpretations include Antonio Carlos Jobim's 'The Girl from Ipanema' and Dave Grusin's 'Mountain Dance', the latter highlighting some incredible sitar playing. In the reworked 'Misty', composed by Erroll Garner, the sitar and tabla supply the melody lines layered on a lush rhythmic foundation provided by the traditional clay pot, ghungroos (ankle-bells), triangle, and tambourine. Blended with these south Asian instruments are sweeping classical violins and bursts of western drum, guitar and bass.Gauher Aftab

Izzat Majeed is a renowned music producer/ arranger of music and the owner of the Sachal Studios. Sachal Studios is now very well renowned in Pakistan, India and the West. Izzat Majeed produces and arranges all kind of music from classical, folk, current music and Jazz. Recently, Sharmeen Obaid made the movie Song of Lahore on the amazing journey of the orchestra. Izzat Majeed was immersed in the music from early days with his father who was a renowned businessman and a very close friend of the great Ali Akbar, son of the Master Allaudin Khan, and Jaidev who also learned from the Master of his era.Razi Ahmed
Razi Ahmed is the founding director and CEO of the annual Lahore Literary Festival, the first such public initiative in Lahore. He has organized three successive editions of the Festival since its debut in 2013. He is a director in his family-run business house of Associated Group and has spearheaded his company's CSR initiatives in public education at Government College, Forman Christian College, and Care Schools, Lahore. Ahmed served on the jury of the 2015 DSC Prize for South Asian Literature. He has written for Dawn, Open Democracy, Dissent, and Huffington Post.Rizwan Nusrat
