At our TEDxMountainViewCollege event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Akin Babatunde

Mr. Babatunde’ is an accomplished actor, director, writer whose theatrical career spans the regional-off- broadway- to international stages of the world-film and T.V. He has been a resident company member of several prestigious theatrical institutions throughout the country and is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Although Mr. Babatunde’ has a national presence, he chooses Dallas as his artistic base and continues to mentor aspiring artists throughout the Dallas /Fort Worth Metroplex. His one-man show he wrote along with his brother the celebrated Emmy award winning actor Obba Babatunde entitled, “Before the Second Set- a visit with Satchmo” had its world premiere at TBAAL and received critical acclaim at theaters across the country. Mr. Babatunde’ holds a Masters of Arts degree in Humanities from the University of . Mr. Babatunde is an adjunct professor in Dallas County Community College District and other Universities.

B. A. Norrgard

In 2012, bucking societal expectations and following her inner guidance, B.A Norrgard shed her paralegal costume after 26 years in a downtown high rise and hand built her tiny house. She is a passionate advocate for others following their dream of letting go of societal conditioning and being free to live a larger life in a smaller space. B.A. is a doer. She has traveled over 7,000 miles with her house and dreams of launching an urban tiny house community. She’s a founding member of The Tiny House Collaborative (www.thlab.org).

Kat Smith

Leana Delle

Leanne Delle is an RN, speaker, podcast co-host and author of the Amazon Bestselling novel "Control Switch." She completed her studies in creative writing at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she is an alumna of their New York seminar. Originally from Canada, she became an American citizen in 2009 and is proud to write and stack her books permanently in The Big D.

Leoncarlo Canlas

Leoncarlo is a musical educator, composer, and performer. Armed with a single violin and loop station, he's able to create lush cinematic textures before audiences in real time. He has lectured and presented his solo project at events such as TEDx Fargo, So Far Sounds, Misfit Con and more. In addition to his solo project, Leoncarlo has also made his rounds as a prolific collaborator, recording and performing violin for various releases in the North Texas music scene.

Leticia Ferrer

Leticia Ferrer is an Umbraphile, a Total Solar Eclipse chaser. She travels all over the world chasing Total Solar Eclipses, viewing her 15th eclipse in Palu, Indonesia, earlier this year. During her eclipse chasing, she’s visited six continents, and flew over the 7th, Antarctica. She wants to share her experience with everyone and inspire travel to the American Eclipse of August 21st, 2017, the first Total Solar Eclipse on the continental US since 1979. When not chasing eclipses, she is active in Toastmasters, a recumbent bike enthusiast, a sci-fi geek and an Ashtanga yoga practitioner.

Pratyusha Pilla

Pratyusha is a recent graduate from the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin, and is currently attending the UNT Health Science Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences to pursue a Masters in Medical Sciences. She is an alumnus of Alpha Phi Omega and a volunteer with the American Heart Association. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Atlantis Educational Services, Inc.

Tony Beshara

Tony Beshara is President and owner of Babich and Associates, Texas oldest placement and recruitment firm. He has been a consultant to businesses concerning their selection and hiring of professionals as well as a career advisor to professional job seekers since 1973. He has written five best-selling books on hiring and a successful job search. He has been a frequent guest/expert on The Dr. Phil Show, and Fox Business News, and is frequently quoted in national newspaper and magazine publications as an authority on careers. He holds a PhD in higher education administration from St. Louis University and resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife, Chris of 47 years. They have four grown sons and three grandchildren.

Trent Scott

Scott Trent, Ph.D., is a metal sculptor, academic, community activist and consultant. He received his graduate degree in Emerging Media and Communication from the school of Arts and Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas. Scott first started advocating for creative groups and developing community art projects in 2009 with the Henderson Art Project which he was founding Director. He later continued this work as artist in residence for the city of Frisco. As a business consultant, Trent has worked with fortune 100 companies in areas of communication, leadership, and team effectiveness for twenty years. His current work entails the integration of art, creativity and innovation into the community and organizations as we continue to search for the value of art to society.
