Telling stories is as basic to human beings as eating. More so, in fact, for while food makes us live, stories are what make our lives worth living. They are what make our condition human.
- Richard Kearney, On Stories (Routledge, 2002), p. 3
Stories – fictional, factual, spoken or written – are part of what makes us human. We will listen to two TED talks about stories and storytellers from around the globe. We’ll discuss why and how stories shape our identities and realities, and how we can learn more about each other by recognizing and sharing our own stories across cultures and places.
