Bibi Baskin
Broadcaster/ Presenter
Best known in Ireland for having a talk show (called Bibi) on RTE1, the first woman in Ireland to have this role. Also worked in UK on Radio (BBCs 2,4,5; TalkRadio) and on TV (BBC1; ITV; Channel 5).
International marketing comunications advisor
Denise Fay is an award-winning author and international marketing communications advisor. Having had a successful corporate career with Fortune 500 multi-nationals, she set up her marketing agency in 2005.
Achieve Marketing is a marketing communications agency that specialises in messaging, language and written communication.
Denise wrote a book, ‘31 days to write better copy’ which was published in 2011. It has won two awards – APEX Award for Publishing Excellence 2011 and Small Business Book Award 2012 (Marketing Category). She also penned a booklet ‘Transform your Words into Influential Marketing Material’ which also won an APEX Award for Publishing Excellence in the How-to Category 2015.
Denise won Micro-Business of the Year in 2015. It celebrates excellence in businesses with less than 10 employees.
Elle Loughran
Student
Elle Loughran is a teenage scientist, blogger and freelance writer. She’s passionate about finding and connecting people with opportunities, as well as about interdisciplinary science and making discovery a part of culture, which is part of her role as a member of the Youth Panel of the British Science Association. She was NI Young Scientist of the Year 2014, recipient of the Queen's University Award for Mathematics and winner of Best Invention at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition 2015, and was named a Global Youth Leader in Nanotechnology in September 2015. She was an Outbox Incubator executive in August 2015 and studied Journalism, Biotechnology and Philosophy at the Centre for Talented Youth Ireland in Dublin City University from 2013-2015.
Architect
Qualified from the Dublin Institute of Technology in 2001 (Hons) with a thesis based on an Urban Analysis of Drogheda. Erasmus Scholarship in Lund University, Lund, Sweden Emmet set up practice in partnership between 2003 ‐ 2007 (Finn‐ Humphreys) and solely as Emmet Humphreys Architects (2008 –present). He has been the project architect on over 70 projects valued between €50,000 and €15,000,000. He has been guest lecturer to the University of Lund, Sweden between 2006 ‐ 2012, teaching on development in historical settings.
His design approach is contextual with a particular emphasis on the interconnection between internal space and external context.
Accountant
Niamh is a qualified accountant with an additional degree in Psychology and almost 15 years of executive corporate experience. Breast cancer changed her life and she is now trained as one of the first medical coaches in Ireland with a vision of bringing coaching to everyone who has gone through a massive life event, something which can be traumatic and with wide ranging consequences - such as chronic illness, bereavement, a life threatening diagnosis, redundancy, retirement or even the arrival of a new little one. Coaching can help regain a sense of control and choice and can allow clients to once again live a gloriously wonderful boring normal life.
Sharon Oughton
Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
Sharon is a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist with over 15 years working with children and families. In that time she has gained an enormous sense of the importance of early relationships, especially in terms of emotional development, mental health and wellbeing.
Degree in Social Work, MSc in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, including research on the impact of fairy tales and modern cartoons on emotional development and is a member of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy and a committee member of the Irish Association of Infant Mental Health.
Lecturer at Dublin Institute of Technology
Thomas Cooney is Professor in Entrepreneurship at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Academic Director of the DIT Institute for Minority Entrepreneurship and Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku (Finland). He is a former President of the International Council for Small Business (2012-13) and of the European Council for Small Business (2009-11), and was Chair of the ICSB 2014 World Entrepreneurship Conference. He was a Member of the Department of Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation ‘Entrepreneurship Forum‘ (2013-14) and has been a policy advisor to the Irish Government, European Commission, OECD and other international organisations. He was a founding Director of Startup Ireland and works in various capacities with a range of businesses and not-for-profit organisations.
