Riaz Ravat

Deputy Director of St Philip's Centre on Diverse Leicester
Riaz joined the Centre in 2008 and his responsibilities include heading up religious and belief literacy training courses, community relations engagement, financial administration, media communications, quality assurance, crisis management caused by national and global incidents and business and partnership development. His work brings him into contact with many organisations including local and central government, other agencies and overseas partners. Riaz has contributed to many national initiatives including the Commission on Religion & Belief in Public Life, the establishment of national Inter Faith Week, the Prime Minister���s Extremism Task Force and pioneered Catalyst ��� a young adults leadership programme. In 2014, he was invited to Oman to present the work of the Centre to an international audience including the UN and Omani Ministry of Religious Affairs. In 2013, Riaz was conferred a British Empire Medal
