Theme: Renaissance

Technology, technology, and more technology. But what about humans? Where do we stand in an age of rapid technological advance? We wanted to focus on the people behind these changes. Not only those at the frontier of technology, especially robotics, but also those who indulge themselves in areas such as art. In our event, we uncover where we are at in terms of some of the latest technology, such as robot journalism and exoskeleton robotics. We also deal with technology in our daily lives, such as fashionable up-cycling products and how technology is incorporated even in our bedrooms. Amidst all this technology, we also have those who focus on providing words of encouragement and peace of mind to people exhausted by such rapid change. 어린 시절에는 그 누구나 특별한 삶을 살 것이라 믿는다. 그래서 아이들의 꿈은 그리 터무니 없이 큰가 보다. 그들은 대통령을 꿈꾸고 우주 과학자를 꿈꾸지만 시간이 지날수록 그 큰 꿈을 이룰 수 있는 사람은 그리 많지 않다는 사실을 깨닫게 된다. 하여, 그들이 꿈꾸는 건 ‘남들처럼’ 사는 일. 하지만 그마저도 여의치 않다는 걸 알게 되는 순간은 처절할 정도로 빨리 온다. 이러한 되풀이되는 상실 속에서 스스로를 위로할 수 있는 방법은 무엇일까?

통번역가로, 프리랜서 외신 기자로 일해온 최정윤 대표. 오랫동안 여성들을 위한 성인용품 가게 창업의 꿈을 품어온 최대표는 플레져랩을 찾는 모든 분들이 자신만의 기쁨을 발견할 수 있게끔 돕는 것이 목표입니다. 자신의 몸을 만지고 욕망을 탐구하는 것이 부끄러운 것이 아니라 건강한 자신감을 심어준다고 믿는 그녀. 플레져랩 방문을 계기로 더 많은 사람들이 스스로의 몸과 즐거워 지고픈 마음에 집중할 수 있게 되기를 바라고 있습니다.

Everyone deserves to live with dignity. We are all born with the rights to live with dignity. Could there ever be a worthless life? For we all deserve to be respected for just being who are are. But regardless of their will, some gave lost their dignity. Someone else's aggression from greed and ambition, and rules and standards that had been wrongfully set by the society or even our ignorance at times, have destroyed their sense of dignity. Thus we believe in restoring such lost dignity. We should also encourage others to remember this at heart forever. For the ones who have lost their dignity should be respected in order to recover what is lost. We should try to get more people to understand and believe our say on lost dignity.
