Catherine Cahn
Catherine attended law school at the University of California, Berkeley and is qualified as a lawyer in both California and England.Starting her career at Latham and Watkins in San Francisco, she then moved to London where she spent five years in the City, working first as a finance lawyer at O’Melveny & Myers, and then latterly as an
investment banker at Merrill Lynch.
Catherine is Head of Operations in the Glasgow office and production
studio and has been overseeing all aspects of its development, utilising her experience as a television producer, lawyer and investment banker to run the production team.

Edgar Grunewald
Edgar Grunewald is an internet content creator based in Dublin.
In the spring of 2014, he set up the youtube channel, Artifexian. The aim of which channel is to be a valuable worldbuilding resource for creators of sci-fi/fantasy fiction. The Artifexian Podcast, launched in the following year and co-hosted by Bill McGrath, carries on these ideals but in a longer conversational format.
He considers worldbuilding to be an academic endeavour in its own right: a tool to focus and drive life-learning. He worldbuilds to understand more about our universe and his greatest joy in life is passing knowledge onto others.
The success of Artifexian in all its form brought him to the attention of his alma mater, The Royal Irish Academy of Music. In September 2016, he began working for the university creating educational music theory videos for them.
Outside of video creation, he enjoys recreational mathematics, watching Star Trek, and eating liquorice.
His favourite fictional character is Captain Jean-Luc Picard and favourite recording artist is Lauryn Hill and despite being on this planet for the best part of three decades, he has yet to devise an effective way to finish off a biog.
Michael Groves
Michael Groves is a geographer with a PhD in remote sensing. He has over 20 years’ experience in natural resources, environmental management and sustainability reporting. His working life began in south-east Asia, pioneering audits of sustainable forest management.
On returning to the UK he set up a consultancy that created annual sustainability reports for large companies. He sold this business in 2011. After, he finally found the right balance between his background, “world
saving” ideas and successful business and run Topolytics.
Topolytics is a software product for environmental managers in industry. It makes granular data on commercial waste, emissions and resource efficiency visible and actionable.
Robert Kalin
Professor Kalin’s academic and professional interests are focused on Environment Science and Engineering to underpin the global sustainability agendas. His work ranges from hydrogeology and Paleohydrology of local to regional scale groundwater systems, study of global biogeochemical cycles and climate change, to site specific biogeochemistry of water treatment, contaminated land and groundwater (including engineering design of sustainable remediation methods), development of new chemical analysis techniques for soil, air and water that to better understand risk to humans and the environment.
Professor Kalin has been active in research and capacity building for water resource management and environment & human health research in many countries in the Middle East, Far East, and Africa. One
example is Professor Kalin Chaired the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Expert Meeting to Develop Educational Products for Global Capacity Building in Isotope Hydrology Vienna, Austria,
(Development and Validation of Global Teaching for UN Decade Water for Life). Currently, he has a number of water and human health projects underway in Malawi.
Sajjad Khan
Sajjad Khan is a Civil Engineering Student at the University of Strathclyde. He has been an ambassador for ethnic minorities, volunteering and travelling for humanitarian work and generally working to serve global community and those around him.

Sajjad Khan aims to promote Humans to be Human again, his topic reflects upon his personal experience through many countries. His visit to Africa was his key inspiration on developing this talk, saddened to see
how some part of this world are so neglected and left behind while others reach out for the moon and aim for the stars. He now created an initiative called AFRICA AID – which enables young people to get involved in a life changing experience by visiting Africa and connecting the two different worlds.
