Clemency is a power that dates back to the Royal Prerogative of Mercy in the United Kingdom. It is the strange power that allows the sovereign to overrule the justice system. Justin Brooks walked 712 miles from San Diego to Sacramento, hoping to convince the Governor to use this power to free 12 innocent people.
We will feature Justin Brooks' talk from TEDxSanDiego 2016 with an open discussion following. Justin will provide background information regarding his work with the California Innocence Project, and how it inspired his walk to Sacramento.
