Did you know that Richmond has its own vibrant community of social entrepreneurs?
Like other cities in America, Richmond faces a plethora of social challenges. Luckily, there are action-oriented individuals around town who see these problems as opportunities. From taking a stand against food deserts in Richmond to training and molding the next generation of community leaders, their purpose for starting businesses and spearheading initiatives is to provide solutions.
On May 31, 2017, we hosted an event at Highland Park’s new Six Points Innovation Center, a hub for teen-focused programs and activities. We partnered with Capital One and Storefront for Community Design to help bring the amazing work of our local social entrepreneurs into the spotlight, and provided attendees of this TEDxRVASalon with the opportunity to learn more about the work of these local heros and discuss how social entrepreneurship has been breaking barriers and innovating right here in RVA!
