Dr. Jimmy Harmon
Dr Harmon is publicly known for having piloted from 2004 to 2012 a pioneering literacy project in mother-tongue education alongside multilingualism. This project got special mention by the Commonwealth Good Education Practice Award in 2010. This project led eventually to the introduction of Kreol Morisien in all primary schools as from 2012.

Janice is passionate about the process of learning and grassroots capacity building and how it translates into social change. Using interdisciplinary approaches, she has explored this topic within the fields of education, global health and development, gender and agriculture through academic, internship and professional experiences in the U.S., U.K. Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Rwanda and Mauritius. She is currently part of the Social Science team at the African Leadership College, working on designing and delivering a world class, de-colonized education.

Phillipa Sibanda
Ms. Phillipa Sibanda is of Zimbabwean heritage who lost her mother at the tender age of 10 and still succeeded beyond all odds then went on to living in California. After returning to her home country few years later, she went through the experience of starting a business in Zimbabwe.
Richard Adu-Poku
Adu-Poku is a second-year student of the African Leadership College in Mauritius. He is from Ghana and has spent all his educational life in Ghana until he moved to ALC from the University of Ghana Business School in January 2016. He is a passionate debater who believes the fortunes of individuals, especially students, can be unearthed through the power of debate. He has represented different schools in debates and public speaking in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zimbabwe as a debater, an adjudicator, and a public speaker. He has also participated in Youth Dialogues in Ghana and Tanzania.
Sakhile Dlamini
Sakhile Dlamini, a Colorado University graduate and is a Software Engineer working on Google plus. He is a FrontEnd engineer and writes Javascript, CSS, HTML and Java to talk to backends.
Sudalakshmee Chiniah
As an undergraduate studying mechanical engineering at the University of Notre Dame, Sudalakshmee Chiniah launched her own summer program, Mauritian Youth Network at the age of 18. “My dream is to personally contribute and make the world a better place and my journey starts with education through my summer program.” Through Mauritian Youth Network, Sudalakshmee teaches leadership through seminars, workshops, and training sessions.
She also spent two years at African Leadership Academy in South Africa. She helped organize the international African Leadership Academy Model African Union 2016 (ALAMAU) as the Director of Finance. She believes that her experience with ALAMAU has allowed her to have fruitful conversations about the African continent and she hopes that one day she will represent the 21st century African image.
