Antonius Wiriadjaja
Assistant Arts Professor, NYU Shanghai
Antonius Wiriadjaja is an Assistant Arts Professor at NYU Shanghai. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, he was a postdoctoral research resident and adjunct faculty at NYU Tisch's interactive telecommunications program (ITP) in New York City. Wiriadjaja performs as an actor, dancer, and musician to sold-out audiences at venues including the Kitchen, the Stone, and Lincoln Center. His work combines programming and circuit hacking to manipulate sound, video, and imagery for live performance and installations. He holds an MPS from NYU Tisch's ITP and a BA from Hampshire College.Bai Hua Gu Da
Weibo Sensation; Talk Show Translator; American Talk Show Chinese localization pioneer
Gu Da Bai Hua is a recognized talk show translator with 8.7million followers on Weibo. He started posting the translated talk show of “The Late Night Show” and since then his works have been well embraced by netizens. He is also named as one of the US-China 50 people powering the world’s most complex and consequential relationship by Foreign Policy. He realizes that Americans are slowly but surely getting hungrier for news and information about China, while Chinese people have been ravenous for decades for any scuttlebutt about American life.Brian Crosby
Creative Director, Marvel Themed Entertainment
Brian Crosby is Creative Director, Marvel Themed Entertainment. In that capacity, he serves as Marvel's Creative representative ensuring that Marvel’s library of over 9,000 characters are accurately represented when they appear in the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, and in various traveling exhibits, shows, conventions and amusement venues around the world. Most recently, he worked on Marvel Universe Live! (a traveling arena show), Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (an immersive walk-thru attraction), IMG Worlds of Adventure (the world’s largest indoor Family Entertainment Center featured in Dubai) and attractions for the Disney Parks such as the “Iron Man Experience” at Hong Kong Disneyland, “Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission: BREAKOUT!” attraction at Disney California Adventure and many other experiences around the world.Diane Geng

Diane Geng is the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at NYU Shanghai. She is responsible for the advising program, providing students with academic support, and assisting with maintaining academic policies. Diane obtained a master's degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education as a Reynolds Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship and is the co-founder of the Rural China Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting quality education for children in rural China.Diane Yu
Counselor to Leadership at New York University Abu Dhabi; Former Deputy President of New York University
Diane C. Yu is the Counselor to Leadership at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) and Executive Director of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Community Programs. Previously she was the Deputy President of New York University, Managing Counsel at a Fortune 500 company, State Bar of California General Counsel (for whom she won a case in the U.S. Supreme Court), and a California Superior Court Commissioner. She attended Oberlin College (B.A.) and U.C. Berkeley School of Law (J.D.). She sits on a number of boards, including Oberlin College, American Management Association, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and the Association of Governing Boards. She served as the White House Fellows Association President and chaired the American Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession. Among her numerous awards are Ten Outstanding Young Women of America, Women’s Leadership Award from the Asian American Bar Association of New York, and an honorary doctorate from City University of New York.Haiyan Gao
Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
Haiyan Gao is the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the Duke Kunshan University. She is also the Henry Newson professor of physics at the Duke University. She was the chair of the department of physics at Duke University from 2011 to 2014, and former President of the International Organization of the Chinese Physicists and Astronomers. She was born in Shanghai, and spent a few years of her childhood in the city of kunshan. She received her B.S. degree from Tsinghua University in 1988 and Ph.D. in physics from Caltech in 1994. She was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign from 1994 to 1996 and then joined the staff at the Argonne National Laboratory in 1996. She became an assistant professor of physics at MIT in 1997 and was promoted to associate professor in 2002. She joined the physics faculty at Duke University in 2002 and became a full professor in 2008. She was named the Henry Newson Professor of Physics in 2012 at Duke.Joanna Waley-Cohen

As Provost, she serves as NYU Shanghai’s chief academic officer, setting the university’s academic strategy and priorities, and overseeing academic appointments, research, and faculty affairs. Waley-Cohen received her B.A. (1974), and her M.A. (1977) in Chinese Studies from Cambridge University, where she was a member of Girton College, and her Ph.D. (1987) in History from Yale University. Head of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra; Routine Director of Shanghai Musician Association
As Head of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Mrs. Zhou Ping has successively built orchestra performance department, education development center, and brand center, making the management of the orchestra more professional and scientific. She is the curator of Annual Orchestra Music Season, and successively founded many art brands of great international influence, including Shanghai New Year’s Concert, Shanghai Summer Music Festival. Zhou has also organized tours over North America, Europe, and South America, laying a solid foundation for reaching goal of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra of being an orchestra “classic in Asia and famous in the world”. Roopa Vasudevan is an Assistant Arts Professor at NYU Shanghai. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, she was an adjunct professor and postgraduate research fellow at the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and adjunct faculty at Fordham College at Lincoln Center. She holds an MPS from ITP and a BA from Columbia University. Vasudevan’s research interests include natural language processing, data collection and analysis, and the artistic representation of social media, as applied to political and cultural dynamics in the United States, both online and off. Her work has been exhibited internationally and featured by Reuters, Hyperallergic, PBS NewsHour, Slate, Complex, The FADER, and Public Radio International, among others.Organizing team
