In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

ΑΓΓΕΛΟΣ ΡΟΔΑΦΗΝΟΣ

Professor of Psychology, Higher Education Advisor, and author
He served as Director of the American College of Thessaloniki Psychology Department and City College / University of Sheffield and Director of the Swinburne / Online Education Services Social Sciences (Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, Forensic Science) program, and worked and taught at Sydney University of Technology, Western Australia and Monash University. His bibliography includes the books "From Prince to Frog and back again: Practical Psychological Techniques to Improve our Self - or others" and "Fools Are invincible: The Ro Method for Addressing them and Effective Problem Solving" as well as 40 and more scientific articles in international scientific journals.

ΔΕΣΠΟΙΝΑ ΣΟΥΡΟΒΙΚΗ

Social entrepreneur
Despina Sourobiki was born in Veria in 1995. She graduated from the Law Faculty where she was attending from 2013-2017. During her studies she actively worked with the European Students of Law (ELSA), where she was elected Vice President of Seminars and Conferences for two terms. He organized the first winter law school in Greece on immigration law and special refugee issues. In 2015 he represented ELSA at the 13th United Nations Conference on Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention. The same year, she founded the Knit2Lead social enterprise with the aim of empowering socially excluded women, which was awarded by the Angeloopoulos CGIU Fellowship and the Resolution Project. In 2016 she participated with a full scholarship at the One Young World Summit in Ottawa. She has been actively engaged in volunteering and she speaks English, Spanish, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, and Russian.

ΘΩΜΑΗ ΑΛΕΞΙΟΥ

Permanent Assistant Professor at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, Department of English Language, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
. She is a graduate of the Pedagogical Department for Kindergarten teachers of the University of Ioannina. She has a Master in Teaching English as second/foreign language (Canterbury Christ Church University) and a PhD on Applied Linguistics (University of Wales, Swansea, Great Britain, full scholarship). Her research interests focus on the field of learning and teaching second / foreign language in pre-school and childhood, cognitive development of children, bilingual education and the development of educational material. He has participated in research projects abroad and in Greece, such as ΠΕΑΠ (ENGLISH EDUCATION PROGRAM IN PRIMARY CHILD AGE), DysTEFL2, ΚΠΓ (state certificate of linguistics) and others. She has been invited as a rapporteur and trainer at various Universities in Greece, Europe and Australia. More recently, in 2016 and 2018, the Ministry of Education of the Arab Emirates invited her to offer training seminars for teachers and staff of the Ministry of Education.

ΘΩΜΑΣ ΚΑΡΑΓΙΑΝΝΗΣ

Karagiannis Thomas Aristotle was born in Thessaloniki in 1990 and lives in Veria. He graduated from the Department of History and Archeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his postgraduate studies in the field of Strategic Studies and International Relations of the University of Macedonia. As a chess referee and as a Development instructor he has so far won four bronze medals in special Pan-Hellenic table tennis matches. At the same time, he is an undergraduate student in the Department of European Studies of the Greek Open University and a member of the DIALG research program (A digital library of Greek lexicons).

ΚΑΛΛΙΣΤΡΑΤΟΣ ΓΡΗΓΟΡΙΑΔΗΣ

He studied Political Sciences at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has a MSc in Communication from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His work experience is intertwined with the object of communication, digital marketing & social media. He works as a Communication manager at the Kir-Yannis Winery, which is based in Naoussa. Born in Veria, he envisions enhancing the region's competitive advantages. Communication is an important "weapon" in his quiver, and through it, he gives the stigma and quality of Greek Production and Economy, both in Greece and abroad. Having participated in many domestic and international exhibitions, competitions and conferences, extroversion is part of his character.

Dr. Mihalis Vafopoulos (vafopoulos.org) is a researcher at the Knowledge Technology and software Laboratory of the Demokritos Research Center and head of the Open Data Institute of the Open Technologies Organization in Athens. His research and speeches pertain to Internet economy, open economic data and business utilization, philosophy and Internet education. In 2011, he published the monograph "The Web Economy: Goods, Users, Models and Policies", which is taught in postgraduate programs. At the WWW2012 conference, he presented the work "Being, Space and Time on the Web" and in 2014 he made the keynote speech at the Web Economy Festival. His book "How Do I Live With The Internet?" (ΜΕΤΑΙΧΜΙΟ editions) introduces a popular cohabitation framework for parents, teachers and every Internet user. Today he is working on the European project YourDataStories and the Linked Open Economy as a model for interconnecting and uniting the financially open data.

ΝΙΚΟΛΑΟΣ ΦΑΧΑΝΤΙΔΗΣ

Assistant Professor of Informatics and Technologies
He is an Assistant Professor of Informatics and Technologies at the Department of Educational and Social Policy of the University of Macedonia. He teaches in postgraduate and undergraduate programs at the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, at the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogy of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Primary Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the NTUA and the Inter-University Postgraduate Programs of Museopedagogy, Cognitive and Kinetic Development and Advanced Computer Systems and Communications Systems (ATM, AUTh) He is in charge of the European STIMEY program, which is devoted to the development of robots to empower pupils in the direction of science. In 2015, his research team was awarded the first prize of the European TellUS Awards, for the method and the robot they developed to support people in the autism spectrum.

She studied philosophy, Educational studies and Psychology at the University of Ioannina. She completed her practice at The “Center for Research and Support of Victims of Abuse and Social Exclusion” and the Center for Creative Employment of Children with Disabilities "Merimna", in Ioannina. She continued with postgraduate studies in Educational Sciences at the University of Ioannina. She worked as a researcher and scientific associate at the same University. In 2012 she returned to her birthplace, Veria, where she worked voluntarily at the "Initiative for the Child" Association of Social Initiative of Veria. From 2013 she works as a teacher at the Day Care Center of the organization, with many other responsibilities, including volunteer management and organizing educational activities.
