Carson Alfonzo
Student
Carson is a senior at Mt. Carmel High School
Educator, Entreprenuer
Christopher Hamilton’s first business venture took shape in the 8th grade, when a phone call to Jake Burton Carpenter resulted in his becoming one of the first—and one of the most successful—Burton Snowboard dealers in the Midwest. After receiving degrees from DePauw University and UCLA, Chris taught English at UCLA for more than seven years. Later on in life, he served as the founding Editorial Director of a food-and-wine magazine, but missing the wit and energy of the classroom, he became a partner in an international test prep company called Elite Educational Institute. Although he still retains ownership in Elite, Chris has gone on to found additional companies, including Hamilton College Consulting, working with students applying to selective colleges. In the past decade Chris has helped more than 150 students earn perfect SAT or ACT scores, and has assisted thousands with admission to their dream colleges.

Omar Fox
Student, MC Alumni
Omar Fox is a freshman at Palomar College. Having just graduated, he wasted no time in finding things to keep him busy. Wanting to pursue both theatre and writing, he is heavily involved in Palomar's performing arts center while also being very active in writing club. Omar has been writing his whole life, or at least as long as he can remember knowing what a pencil was. Writing is way to express for him non verbally, but he hopes when one reads his work, they can hear his voice through his words. He has been passionately perusing writing since his sophomore year here at MCHS. Last year, he took to the pen and paper with The Race To Equality which was a one act written by him that got selected to be read on stage in front of the student body. He is very grateful to have attended Mt. Carmel because he feels that it gave him that correct foundation to build his success.
Susan Randle
Teacher
Susan Randle has been an English and AVID high school teacher since 2009. She spent her formative teaching years at San Diego High School, and has only recently been back to her alma maters since 2014. Her favorite superhero skill is controlled chaos, which is put to the test daily by her beautiful two sons, Ethan and Ryan, and loving husband, Eric. Randle’s devotion to the world of teaching started at a young age when she wrote each year she wanted to be a teacher in her “About Me” assignments. It was further evident when all of her imaginary friends were students, including some who had the same first name and needed to be identified by their last initial. It was Mr. Bob Pacilio’s Junior English class that clinched her fate when he described her as another student’s “pink-pened angel” after completing a peer revision and she knew she had finally had the confirmation that teaching high school was her calling. Randle is looking forward to a long and happy career at The Mount .
