Arjun Puri
Head of Admissions and Outreach for the O. P. Jindal Global University - Mr. Arjun Puri has received education from the most prestigious learning platforms like La Martiniere for Boys in Calcutta and graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2007. Sir, then worked as a banker with Merrill Lynch International Bank for close to 5 years. There are moments in life where we are asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” and like every child, Mr. Puri was asked the same. The moment he felt torn between his profession and passion, he started to do some thinking. He is an example of an idealist, where he doesn't only inspire a thousand others to walk on the path of passion but also demonstrates his career as a perfect balance between success and satisfaction. After moving back to India, Mr. Puri joined ITC’s rural development and farmer empowerment programme, E-Choupal. During these sudden changes what kept him going was his mantra, “I had chosen to undertake this journey and I will see it through.” His desire to give back to the society took his next career stop back to the education and career counseling sector. Currently, sir works as the Head of Admissions and Outreach for the O. P. Jindal Global University. We eagerly await Mr. Puri’s passion, commitment, and compassion to ignite a fire of curiosity and zeal in our minds.
Bhagyashree Dasani
She a certified nutritionist and wellness expert having done credited courses from Stanford, American Fitness Professional association(AFPA) and has travelled all over India giving interactive talks to promote good health and mental well-being.
Ishan Malhotra
Ishan is a 17 year old Jpite. He’s an innovator, a creator and an inventor. “ I love breaking and making stuff” he says. Ishan has been fond of technology right from the moment he was born. He's adept at complex problem solving and is most comfortable in his company of computers. Other than that Ishan has a penchant for social service. He believes that he can transform his society into a better place with the help of technology. He has made multiple projects that have not only impacted his life but has also impacted the lives of others. Currently he is working on a project that tackles the tribulations faced by Indian farmers. He envisions India in a brighter light, in a light where even the lowest classes have access to basic technologies.
Kush Pandey
Student. Technologist. Problem solver. Kush is a 17 year old student studying at JPIS. A die-hard Manchester united fan, he worships football and has represented his city and state at the national and international levels. His love for sports is matched by his passion for technology. He is always looking for ways to combine the two, and solve problems that would help India develop. His devotion towards both has helped him develop an app that is aimed at easing the process of scouting in India.
Laxmi Narayan Tripathi
An actress, a Bharatnatyam dancer, an author, a social activist, and a proud transgender, Ms. Tripathi is an invaluable addition to our list of speakers. The first transgender person to represent Asia Pacific at the United Nations, she has been the unwavering face of LGBT activism for over a decade. She is bold and unapologetic in everything she does and everything she creates: be it her biography, Red Lipstick, or her fundamental role in Queens! Destiny of Dance, or her extensive efforts in shattering the stigmas surrounding India’s 3rd gender. President of the NGO DAI Welfare Society and founder of Astitva, Ms. Tripathi has inspired nothing short of a paradigm change in the way people view and treat sexual minorities.
Leena Gupta
Former Miss India America, Leena is a Wellness expert, Personal life coach, Inspirational Speaker, Dance Therapy instructor, and a Senior International Faculty with the Art of Living foundation teaching advance level and corporate training courses for the past 17 years. She has worked with top companies such as IBM, Meryl Lynch, British Gas, among many others and works with cancer patients regularly. She has taught in US, UK, China, Jordan, India, and Chanel Islands and conducted a Dance and Meditation tour in Europe, Scotland and Chanel Islands. Leena has created dance workshops blending coaching, unique dance movements along with meditation. These sessions are transforming emotions, empowering individuals and enhancing the happiness quotient all around the world.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra
A director. A writer. A producer and also the man who made a difference, Mr. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra does not fail to abide by the rods that his own movie Rang De Basanti unleashed. While he won four National Awards and was India’s official entry to the Oscars 206-2007, his work is not just confined to the realms of theatre, but goes far beyond that. Sir is currently on a mission to give slum dwellers their basic sanitary rights. He has helped build over 200 toilets in the last four years and continues to do so.
Ratna Vira
Ratna Vira is an inspiration to thousands. She doesn’t only have the ability to paint a picture with her words but also radiates confidence and charisma which helps her balance between her corporate career and with writing and love of art. She has walked through a road of accomplishments since the very beginning as she holds a masters degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is a best selling author with her novels ‘Daughter By Court Order’ and ‘It’s Not About You’.
Samyak Kumar
Samyak is the typical computer science wiz kid with a penchant for experimentation. With Computer Science and programming as a hobby he has taken part in and won several computer science competitions and can usually be found with a headset and a laptop working on breaking down another program. When he's not letting his hours fly by staring at a computer screen, he can be found hogging food, catching up on his sleep.
Shanaya Munot
Shanaya is a 17 year old student from Mumbai. She's a social entrepreneur, self proclaimed foodie and a national level Taekwondo champion. Being brought up in a country like India, sexual harassment and women's safety has been an issue that has always remained close to her heart. Hence, she has always been passionate about self defence and is adamant on demystifying the myths that surround it. Currently, Shanaya is working on directing, producing and translating self defence videos in local dialects in order to positively impact the lives of students especially women in rural areas of the country.
Suresh Raina
One of India’s finest athletic talents – Mr. Suresh Raina has dominated the cricket pitch. His international debut came at the age of 19, and since then, he’s acquired many records and distinctions to his name. In 2011, he played an integral role in team India’s victorious conquest of the World Cup. Mr. Raina’s IPL achievements include having the most runs scored in the tournament, and being a two-time league champion, with the Chennai Super kings. His off-the- field endeavors include starting the Gracia Raina foundation, which works closely with underprivileged mothers and children, in dealing with health issues.
Zeeny Jhelumi
Author, storyteller, and educator, Ms. Zeeny Jhelumi is someone who aims to make learning fun. She served as an editor of Mkids – a children’s publishing house, in Delhi. Over the years she has written countless stories and poems for children. She often works with them, in her learning centre, called The Storytellers. Ms. Jhelumi’s works are a prominent feature of a multitude Book Fairs, including those held in Paris, and Frankfurt. She also conducts workshops on story-telling, in both England and India. Hailing from the Trinity Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London, Ms. Jhelumi won the Best editor award, at her school. On March of this year, she was honored at the London-Asian Film Festival, for her work as a writer.
