Anirudha Joshi is professor of design and Human Computer Interaction (HCI) at the Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay, India. He is actively involved in designing interactive products and technology for users in developing economies, focusing on healthcare, literacy, Indian language text input, banking, education, industrial equipment, and FMCG packaging. His work for urban and rural Indian users employs a variety of platforms including desktops, the web, mobile phones, ATMs, and custom hardware. He is also known as the HCI-Guru in India!
Dedeepya Reddy
Co-Founder Chal Rang De
Dedeepya Reddy is the Co-Founder of Chal Rang De. Chal Rang De believes that color has the power to change mindsets & bring about a change in the society.
Chal Rang De started with the simple idea of coloring Mumbai slums to
make them look better. But through the process of gathering 750 odd
volunteers & painting 170 walls they realized that they had achieved a lot more. The area of Asalpha which they revamped now is preparing for home stays & their own area tours.
Hasit Ganatra
Founder, Re-materials
Hasit Ganatra, an engineering graduate from the University of Southern California, leads ReMaterials. Hasit has worked with startups in the fields of rural solar electrification at Duron Energy, electric vehicles at S-Commute, and low-income housing at Worldhaus. There are millions of people living under tin roofs in India. These roofs not only cause several challenges unique to every season, they also result in several health issues.
Hasit Ganantra through his company ReMaterials has been working
relentlessly for the past 4 years to solve this crisis in our country. He along with his team mates have developed over 300 prototypes before arriving at a solution that is affordable and functional.
Hasit wil talks about this unique solution and how it can transform lives of millions of families in India.
Matias Echanove
Co-Founder, URBZ
Matias Echanove is a co-creator of urbz, co-director of the Institute of
Urbanology and co-author of airoots.org with Rahul Srivastava. He spends most of his time in Mumbai and Geneva, and always likes to discover new places and people. Currently obsessed with new models of participatory governance and institution building, Matias has developed an expertise in the organization of participatory design workshops over years of work at urbz. He is also fascinated by questions of urban and economic development, mobility and culture.
Nimmi Rangaswamy
Associate Professor, IIIT Hyderabad
Nimmis is currently Associate Professor at the Kohli Centre on Intelligent Systems, Indian Institute of Information Technology, IIIT, Hyderabad. She brings an anthropological lens in understanding the impacts of AI research and praxis.
She is also Adjunct Professor at the Indian institute of Technology, IIT,
Hyderabad where she teaches courses at the intersections of society and technology.
She worked in the building of technologies in the areas of consumer-centric heath care and urban mobility.
Previously, her job at Microsoft Research was a combination of theoretical analysis and ethnographic field research to understand technology use in developing countries. These are studies of patterns of technology adoption in various social contexts and spaces in India, ranging from middle-class consumption of domestic media, the business models of cyber cafés and the use of mobile internet and Facebook among urban slum youth.
Rahul Srivastava
Co-Founder URBZ
Rahul Srivastava studied social and urban anthropology in Mumbai, Delhi and Cambridge (UK). His previous publications include an ethnography of urbanized nomads around Mumbai, a novel published by Puffin, (Penguin, India) and 'The Slum Outside', a commentary on Dharavi, co-written with Matias Echanove and published by Strelka Press. He continues to write extensively on urban issues with Matias, with their next major publication signed up with Verso, London. He brings his background in anthropology and visual ethnography to urbanology, the practice that energizes much of urbz's work in Mumbai and elsewhere.

Mohammad Shams Alam Shaikh has had an accomplished life thus far. By the age of thirty, he has graduated with a mechanical engineering degree. He is also a qualified coach and has a black belt in Karate.
However, he had had some major health issues. In 2010 he had to undergo many operations to repair a spine tumor. After the surgery, his doctor recommended swimming. He took up the sport and started to embrace butterfly. The exercise of swimming allowed his disability to decrease from 100% to only 72%. At the age of 24, he joined the Paraplegic Foundation which is an NGO.
In December 2016, Shams won 4 gold medals in the championship held in Indore and was named the title of Best Swimmer.
Shams is passionate about creating an inclusive society where differently abled individual do not have to depend on others for their day to day requirements.

Sumedha Sah is a self taught illustrator & the founder of The Snail Mail
Project. Sumedha believes in the power of writing & is trying to revive the art of handwritten letters & propogate art through her unique initiative.
In exchange for the letters, Sumedha creates a unique piece of art & sends it to the writer with a handwritten note. Sumedha has received letters from all over the world & plans to continue this platform to revive the art of letter writing.
