In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adham Moustafa

Student

Adham Moustafa is an advocate for liberal arts education (particularly for students of the sciences) and currently works toward earning a bacehlors degree in mechanical engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Dubai. His passion for problem solving is driven though his intellectual curiosity rooted in his diverse personal and academic experiences. Born in the United States to Syrian students, Moustafa was raised as an international citizen with a perpetual thirst for hearing others' stories and shaping his own vis-à-vis his quest for wisdom. Completing his liberal arts pilgrimage at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts in 2014, Moustafa enrolled at American University's School of Internatonal Service (SIS) in Washington, D.C. before shifting his academic orientation to the sciences. Through these endeavors, Moustafa has learned to prize all forms of knowledge to attempt to answer the universal question: why?

He is also a recognized expert at the European Commission in Security Risk Management. He has a worldwide practical experience of consulting and technical architecture design in multiple sectors including integrated urban management, urban security, public water, energy, public transportations, oil & gas, airports.

Dr.Priyanka.P.V, Director of Philip Kotler Center for Advanced Marketing has rich experience in the field of education, teaching and research. She is a young achiever in the field of teaching. She is innovative and teaches management and marketing subjects artfully using a blend of technology and in-class tools of teaching. She is a winner of 9 awards for her outstanding contribution to the field of education, teaching and research. She has presented and published more than 30 research papers at leading institutions like Harvard University, Indian Institute of Management, Indian School of Business to name a few. Dr.Priyanka P V is an author for three books with reputed publishers like Pearson Publications, Business Expert Press and Lap Lambert Publications. She has been featured in media both online and print for her contribution to the field of education. She also loves social service. She is born to be a professor and impact the student community to achieve and excel.

He is Associate Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology and has a wealth of operational and consulting experience supporting Executives across the world in strategy, innovation, quality and business improvement. Dr Saidi, lived in 20 cities across 7 countries over 3 continents and is a frequent speaker in conferences and leadership retreats.

Tharun Thomas

Energy Efficiency Business Manager

Tharun Thomas is an Electrical and Electronics Engineer with a Masters degree in Operations Management. He has spent more than a decade in the Automation industry with companies like Cimac, now Schneider electric, Beckhoff Automation specializing in the field of Industrial Automation, Building Controls, and Energy management services handling business development and account management in addition to providing technical consultancy services to project in MIddle East. Since 2014 he works in the Energy Services contracting business helping organisations reduce their energy consumption and Carbon footprint. His expertise includes Industrial automation, PLC SCADA systems, remote monitoring solutions, Integrated building management systems, energy management solutions, lighting control, IOT solutions. Over the last 2 years he has managed to secure 75+ buildings and also managed the largest lighting retrofit project in the residential sector in UAE.

Zulfa Rasheed

Engineer & Artist

Zulfa Rasheed, an electrical engineer specialized in communication. Graduated in 2015 from Ajman University of Science and Technology. And perusing her M.Sc. in Engineering Management in Rochester Institute of Technology, RIT Dubai. She achieved 4 awards as an undergraduate student in engineering and business. In 2015 Rasheed was selected among 8 participants representing UAE in UNESCO biosphere excursion between Ethiopia and UAE. About her artistic background, Zulfa came from a family that value art. She was firstly introduced to art through her father. An anesthesia technician who’s known as a distinguished artist and calligrapher specially in his days back there in his home country Sudan. Rising under his passion of art after work she learned not to fear the ink or the brush. Thus, a talent was flourished from childhood days. in 2010 she opened her first sole drawing and painting art exhibition “Muhajer” in Fujairah, UAE and placed second in the Arabic Calligraphy - Naskh of Ramadan
