Theme: Be

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

The theme for TEDxGLIMChennai 2018 is "Be". BE is a pool of all possibilities. It gives you the power to BE anything whether it is what others expect of you or what you expect from yourself. It could represent the present, the current state of BE-ing. It could represent the future, a motivation to BE something. It is the whole sum of everything humanly possible.

Despite fighting cancer, he never expected people to sympathize with him in his affliction. He was most contented when he painted a wall for fourteen hours straight; an opportunity was given by Red Bull. He believes that his art should be able to express itself. He is the personification of sheer hard work, passion, and zeal in spite of aversities.

Mohana Arun

Mohana Arun is currently a student at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai. As an engineering graduate, she has prior experience in working as an Application Engineer at a multi-national conglomerate in Mumbai. After her two-year career in Mumbai, she returned to Chennai to pursue her MBA. She enjoys dancing and spends most of her free time learning new forms of classical dance. In addition to dancing, she loves teaching and volunteering in NGOs.
