In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Hajra Khan

Hajra Khan, world record holder, took the mantle of captaincy of Pakistan National Women’s football team at the age of 20. She is the only Pakistani player to have been invited by and trained with German Bundesliga Clubs, signed by SHR Football Club in Maldives and the only Pakistani to score more than a hundred goals in club career.

Haseeb Sultan

Haseeb is a dentist, writer, and an artist who believes in the depth that can be found in shallowness of living life as a millennial. His work has been published in GQ, BuzzFeed like, Thought Catalog and other publications. His art has appeared in publications like Paperazzi, Destinations, The News etc. He has studied creative writing from the University of Iowa. His work deals with the mundanity of existence and he hopes that through his work, he can represent the quintessential experiences of a Desi boy trying to find his place in the expansive world that is the world wide web.

Master Ayub Khan

Mohammad Ayub Khan moved to Islamabad about 30 years ago for his job in CDA's fire brigade. After work hours he would teach underprivileged children and that led to the beginning of his open air school which started with about 4 students and now has hundreds. He has achieved numerous awards, for his teaching, philanthropy, as well as for firefighting such as, a Presidential Award for Pride of Performance, recognition by Pakistan’s Ministry of Education, and an international award on philanthropy by the President of Turkey. As a firefighter, he saved many lives on the incident of the Marriot blast and was awarded by CDA's fire brigade for his services. He believes that children should have access to education regardless of their financial, religious and social background, because that is a basic right that, if made accessible, can help them become contributing members of society.

Muhammad Azeem

Mohammad Azeem is currently a Sophomore at LUMS. Last year, he co-founded Qayaam, along with Hamza Rasheed and Muhammad Owais, to make travel in Pakistan a friction-less experience. As the COO of the company, he traveled the length and breadth of Northern and Southern Pakistan. For continuing his commitment to Qayaam, he had to put his studies on halt. He has no regrets of not graduating on time, except for few missed moments with his friends. He likes to play at the intersection of history, psychology, science, and technology and hopes to bring a revolution in Pakistani corporate culture and make the work more purposeful.

Sobia Zafar

Sobia Zafar is the Former Change Management Specialist to the UN (working in Switzerland and Pakistan). She is now a mother, as well as a strategist for leaders in both Pakistan and Australia. She coaches, mentors, and trains Corporate Executives and helps them identify their authentic leadership style to enable them to lead with courage and grace. She helps empower social change leaders in Pakistan.

Umer Hussain

A baker, an Ice-cream guy, Pundit, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, Adventurer and a Designer; Everything Umar is passionate about, he links It up with food. His vision is to positively influence all those places that show up on a Google search of the word Pakistan. He uses food as a means to do what he loves; from hiring transgender and disabled people in his restaurants in order to give them a source of earning, and giving away free Ice-cream on his pop-up rickshaws to spread smiles, to empowering women by training them vocational skills, he has done it all. His journey is what made him who he is today.

Yahya Ali

Social Activist, Trainer, Event Manager, Marketing Executive and an I.T. Manager, these are a few of many words that can describe Yahya Ali. Yahya has been actively involved with organizations such as Rabtt, British Council Pakistan, Red Crescent, MAKEISTAN and AFAQ. His team members were the youngest trainers that Plan 9 had over board for conducting training session for incubates. Yahya is also known to be a staunch sportsman with keen interest in illustrations and photography. At a young age of 22, he has taken a number of initiatives in this field, focusing on technological literacy among kids belonging to the middle and lower middle class. Moreover, he has been involved in developing an Artificial Intelligent choreographer along with his team and were runner-ups in the largest software engineering competition in Pakistan (SOFTEC-18).
