Theme: Movement

TEDxGUL is an official TEDx Talk taking place here at University of London, Goldsmiths. The Debating society has organized this event as a public speaking conference with the support of the student’s union.

The event is to consist of speakers ranging from entrepreneurs to researchers. The primary goal of the event is to spread ideas. To enlighten our audience to a world of possibilities.

Many of the speakers for TEDxGUL are University of London, Goldsmiths lecturers and alumni. This talk is an excellent opportunity to present Goldsmiths on the world stage.

Ideas create visions which lead to prospect. We want to bring a community together to experience an eye awakening and ground-breaking event. Most of our speakers are researchers within Goldsmiths because we want to give them a platform in which they can show their originality while demonstrating the values of Goldsmiths.

Andrea Spisto

Andrea Spisto is a London-based theatre maker, poet, movement director, performer and producer. A graduate in Devising Theatre and Performance at LISPA in Lecoq physical theatre practices such as clown, bouffon, mime, grotesque and comedia. Andrea is inspired by bridging the arts with social awareness. She uses movement, playfulness, creativity and pens words to open discussion about some of the issues faced by our planet and people, hoping to incite progressive dialogue through the means of poetry, physical movement, clowning, and performance art.

Christopher French

Christopher is the founder of the Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit (APRU). He is a professor in psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London.

John Drever

Drever is currently Operating at the intersection of acoustics, sound art, soundscape and urban studies, and composition, Drever’s practice represents an ongoing inquiry into the affect, perception, design and practice of everyday environmental sound and human utterance.

Kristoffer Lundberg

Kristoffer Lundberg is the CEO of one of the leading Insurtech communities, Insurtech Insights, with a broad range of activities in America, Europe and Asia targeted for top-tier leaders and decision makers within the insurance industry. Before joining Insurtech Insights, Lundberg founded and ran the largest CFO conference in Scandinavia, CFO Insights, with more than 500 finance professional attendees and partnerships with KPMG, Deloitte, EY and Samsung among others. Lundberg holds a BSc in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, which he finished in one year and nine months while being an Associate at PwC.

Souad Slyman

Souad Slyman is an experienced educator & game researcher at Goldsmiths University who has turned to games as a building tool for learning

Ylva Baeckstrom

Ylva lectures in Finance at King’s Business School. Her research and teaching interests are in behavioural finance, with a special interest in gender and the interplay between financial advisors and investors
