In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Melanie Little

CEO and Co-Founder of Vlife
Melanie started her career as an elementary school teacher, but from day one in the classroom she realized that the school system didn’t allow her to facilitate learning in the way that children learn best. She stopped teaching when her children were born and stayed home to raise and then home-educate them. It was then that she was finally able to facilitate learning in the way that she’d learned in her BEd Program – from a place of interest and relevance. Melanie was fascinated with the ease with which her own children learned and flourished compared to her public-school students. Pursuing further educational research, she is writing a book to help disseminate the vast body of knowledge on how humans learn best and get it into the hands of parents, educators and policy makers. In addition to her ongoing book research and writing; Melanie is the CEO and co-founder of vlife: a support-local online marketplace exclusively for small independent businesses.
