In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr Marc Kahn

Dr Marc Kahn is a Chartered Business Coach and clinical psychologist, and the author of “Coaching on the Axis: Working with Complexity in Business and Executive Coaching” (2014). London: Routledge. Marc teaches with a fundamental message: An extraordinary culture, more-so than any special individual, creates the most valuable outcomes in organisational life. Marc has been with Investec since 2008. Prior to that he was managing director of a consultancy (subsequently acquired by EY) that specialised in learning and development, competency-based assessments and executive mediation, facilitation and coaching programmes. He began his career in 1997 as a clinical psychologist in private practice, where he focused on adult psychotherapy as well as psycho-legal assessments, for which he acted as expert witness in High Court matters.

Based at the Tavistock Clinic, he designs and delivers training for school leaders and education professionals around child and adolescent mental health, resilience, leadership and organisational development.

Phil is the founder of the BAFTA-winning game studio PRELOADED. He is passionate about using the power of play to solve real world problems and change people’s lives. Over the past 18 years he has worked with LEGO, Google, British Museum, BBC, V & A, Science Museum, Wellcome Trust and TATE and created games on subjects as diverse as neuroscience, drug addiction, mental health, ancient history, literacy, physical science, genetics, death and philosophy. As a parent he is passionate about age-appropriate design and the use of technology to enhance life rather than distract from it.
