Born in Tehran, Iran, Ghazal is now studying at the University of Würzburg and meanwhile working as an English teacher. Based on her personal experience she got interested in the impact of routine tremendous amount of news and data we are exposed to and its correlation with stress and depression and the importance of raising more awareness, emotional education and self-consciousness in the digitalization era.
It seems crucial that each of us develop our personal strategies to reduce the impact of the stress imposed by the modern life style, just a little sanctuary to shelter at the end of the day. As Ghazal has figured out hers in painting and philosophy.
Ghazal loves reading, abstract art and jogging. Inspired by Yuval Noah Harari and his attitude toward the notability of psychological stamina and the ability to reinvent ourselves in the course of our future.

In her speech she is going to talk about how all information, impressions or data is firstly processed in and through our brain and what impact it has on our perception of the "self".
Besides studying or reading, she also loves to climb, to discuss and to meditate.

Shyam Nandan Reddy Uppuluru is a Master's student in Applied Computer Science at the University of Göttingen. He has an avid interest in using data science for applications in finance and hopes to study the connection between social media sentiments and market behaviour. Shyam has been an active public speaker & quizzer since childhood, having secured accolades at provincial and regional levels. He has a passion for traveling and spends his free time studying current affairs and writing English poetry.

Wong Tsz is a musician, musicologist, artist and linguist. He writes about historical linguistics, translations, cultural studies, music and visual media.
In his speech he wants to discuss how we talk about sex and how carefree use of certain slang terms can impact our society: from increasing gender imbalance to misrepresentation of reality.
