Grant Dillard

Born in Portland, Oregon, Grant made his way to beautiful British Columbia to become a student of Brentwood College. When he is not debating about contentious topics or dribbling a ball down a court, the 17-year-old enjoys spending time with his friends when he’s not busy napping. Grant has over the years perfected his craft in public speaking as he participated in International and International Debate competitions. From Athens to Yale, he has since been using his witty humour and sharp mind to help younger students with hopes of becoming skilled in the art of verbal communication.

Michael Miller

Michael grew up in the non-wilds of Mississauga, Ontario. An urban oasis adjacent to his home kept him occupied and interested in wild things in his youth. A slow-burning fascination with birds erupted during his days at the University of Guelph where he finished his BSc in Zoology. An urge to migrate westward swiftly followed, and soon after he defended his MSc at the University of Saskatchewan examining the exposure of Bald Eagles to the toxic effects of ingesting lead shot. An even stronger migratory urge moved him and his wife to the wilds of Vancouver Island, where he continued his work as both a wildlife biologist and instructor in the biology labs at the University of Victoria. A teaching certification, two children, several mammalian and avian companion animals later, Michael has found himself in the Science department at Brentwood College School, where he hopes to instruct and inspire others in maintaining a fascination with the natural world.

Sarah Wolinsky

Born and raised in Toronto, Sarah survived a typical millennial young adulthood which included, among other things, a Masters of History, seven years guiding canoe trips in northern Ontario, a teaching degree in Outdoor and Experiential Education, a black belt in Korean swordfighting, several games of Pokémon, and a brief altercation with a woman who claimed she could telepathically communicate with basil. Her search for a career which combined all of those things brought her (perhaps inevitably) to her current role as a boarding school math teacher and houseparent-in-residence.

She's a mother of two teens and the author of the children's book (and parent resource): Surfing the Worry Imp's Wave - Empowering children to understand and manage anxiety.
