Theme: Ideas Worth Spreading

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr. Sadanand Shetty

Cardiologist

Dr Shetty is a prominent figure in Cardiology with simple rural roots. Completing his basic education in municipal schools and colleges, he lived through the death of his sister and mother at a very young age and continued on to pass M.D. (Gen. Medicine) standing 2nd in the University and passing D.M. Cardiology in his first attempt. He is currently Prof. & Ex-Head - Dept. of Medicine & Cardiology at Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Nerul, before which he was associated with K. J. Somaiya Medical College. Dr Shetty has had the privilege of seeing the evolution of various medical procedures over the last 25 years and has performed some of the first complex procedures like angiography and angioplasty in certain hospitals. He makes special efforts to stay updated with the latest in medical advancements and despite his simple background, can stand proudly amongst his international counterparts. Prajakta is professionally trained in Bharatnatyam, having completed her Arangetram and Visharad. She has also completed B.A and M.A in Performing Arts from Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune University and was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, for higher studies in Bharatnatyam awarded to only 20 students a year in India. Prajakta has been participating in theatre at an early age. She has done innumerable Anchoring and Televised programs on Zee Marathi, Mi Marathi, STAR Pravah, Colors Marathi, Saam Marathi. Her first movie, ‘Taandala - Ek mukhavta,’ saw her as the female lead in flashback. Films like ‘Kho-Kho,’ ‘Sangharsh,’ ‘Mhais’ as a Choreographer, ‘Golaberij’ (Performed Lavani) followed. She has done some daily soaps like ‘Julun Yeti Reshimgathi’ (Zee Marathi) as Meghana, ‘Suvasini’ (Star Pravah) as Saavi,’ ‘Bandh Reshmache (Star Pravah) as Aditi,’ Phiruni Navin Janmen Mee - Mi Marathi’ and many more.

Prajakta Shukre made her first appearance in the music industry with Indian idol in 2005 and since then she has truly grown as a soulful singer enchanting us with her melodious voice. We have also watched her on National Shows, Interviews, and Public performances as well as on cover and original music videos too. She made her Debut with Album DHAKKA in 2007. Her recent popular songs include "Dankila" from Manikarnika , where she was voice of Kangana Ranaut. She is also known for her distinctive performances on her social media where her music videos are showered with millions of views from all over the globe. She initiated her to take music as a career and she obliged by becoming a renowned playback singer of Bollywood. From the tender age of four, she started participating in various singing competitions. While she was in 12th standard, she decided to participate in the singing based reality shows INDIAN IDOL. She was the only female contestant to reach top 5 in her season.

Pt. Chandrakant Limaye

Hindustani Classical Singer

Pandit Chandrakant Limaye (चंद्रकांत लिमये) (born 19 August 1950) is a Hindustani Classical Singer from India, and the successor disciple of the well known vocalist, Late Dr.Vasantrao Deshpande. He is one of the few classical vocalists who has been trained in different gharanas under the following eminent gurus : (a) Gwalior Gharana - Late Pt. Narayanrao Vyas, Dr. Vasantrao Rajopadhye, Late Pt. Gajananrao Joshi, Pt. Chandrashekar Rele. (b) Jaipur Gharana - Pt. Ratnakar Pai (c) Agra Gharana - Pt. Balakram Jadhav Finally, he found his moorings in the gayaki of Late Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande, the illustrious vocalist who gave him ardous training for over a decade, covering all facets of Indian Classical Music. He was also fortunate to receive guidance from Late Pt. Kumar Gandharva. He excels in highlighting the special nuances in lighter genre such as Thumri, Dadra, Tappa, Bhajan, Marathi Natya-Geet and Abhang. His music gives a serene bliss, bringing about the depth of emotions.

Sandesh is a proud owner of a very renowned hotel brand in Pune "Fish Curry Rice" and also owning his own Marathi Theatre Company "Suyog Production." Completed education from King George High School Dadar & later completed Hotel Management from Kohinoor College of Hotel Management. His father Sudhir Bhat was into two major Business one is Theatre his company name is Suyog Production & other is Interior Contractor. He had a Dream of past 32 Years to open a Restaurant. So in 2009 after Sandesh completed Hotel Management, they opened a Restaurant by name Fish Curry Rice in Pune. The restaurant is now situated in 2 Prime Locations is Pune (Law College Road & Baller). The restaurant is all set to complete ten years (A Decade ) on 19th April 2019. His father expired in 2013, and then Sandesh started looking after his dad's production house. He got five plays under Suyog since then, and the play " ANANYA " is making its mark everywhere. It has won many awards & global recognition.

He is very passionate about photography, and a self-learned photographer and who is doing photography for the last five years. He is a nature lover and love to photograph the beautiful nature around us and has won prizes in State level Landscape Photography competitions. He also has a YouTube channel related to Photography, where he talks about different Photography techniques and cameras. He has been making YouTube content since the last three years, and it is now the biggest Photography Youtube channel in India with more than 400,000+ followers. He has collaborated with big brands such as Nikon, Sigma, Aperture, PolarPro, Palette, etc. with a primary objective behind this channel is to educate the audience and inspire them to be better photographers

Founder - Saath Trust

Sujata Raikar, born in a Punjabi family, is the Trustee of SAATH Charitable Trust (Support And Aid for Thalassemia Healing). She did her Master's in Computer Application from Gujarat and came to Mumbai post marriage. She came to know about Thalassemia in 2008 and is a person with a sensitive nature; she decided to dedicate her life for Thalassemia affected patients. She also pledged to spread awareness about it. As the work increased, she established SAATH Charitable Trust. Today, through this trust, 90 Thalassemia patients from impoverished families are provided medicines, and their medical needs are taken care of. Up till now she has given information about Thalassemia to more than 50000 people all over Maharashtra. She dreams of a Thalassemia free India.

Vikas Shirodkar

Vikas Shirodkar is a HR professional with 34 years corporate and 4 years of consultancy experience in the entire gamut of Human Resources, Employee Relations, and the field of People Management. He has worked with some of the best names in Indian industry during his career. Beginning in HCL, he then moved on to Siemens and thereafter worked for Atul Limited. He was invited to join Siemens India back. Thereafter he worked for Johnson & Johnson India where he rose to be an Asia-Pacific Director, responsible for implementing HR transformation in 14 countries. His last job was with General Motors. He completed his graduation & post-graduation in Psychology from Mumbai University with flying colors and winning 3 Gold Medals. He then studied at the IIM Calcutta for a Fellowship in PMIR.
