In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alberto Diaspro is Director of the Nanophysics Dept. at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), IIT Deputy Director, Chair of Nikon Imaging Center at IIT, Full Professor of Applied Physics, Dept.of Physics, UNIGE, Academic of the Accademia Ligure di Scienze e Lettere. AD published 300 papers, more than 11000 citations, H 50 (Google Scholar). He is Wiley Editor in Chief of Microscopy Research and Technique, IEEE and OSA senior and SPIE fellow. He received the Emily M.Gray Award, Biophysical Society. Alberto Diaspro is President of the Scientific Council of “Festival of Science”. Diaspro research is on advanced optical microscopy and structure and function of chromatin-DNA.

Antonio La Cava

LA CAVA Antonio, nato il 28.4.45 a Ferrandina ed ivi residente. Coniugato con Angela Martoccia, ha tre figli e cinque nipoti. Da 9 anni in pensione, ha fatto il maestro elementare per 42 anni. Da sempre impegnato nel mondo del volontariato e della cultura, è stato: - Presidente del Comitato Provinciale di Matera della FIGC; - Commissario Tecnico della Rappresentativa Lucana con la quale conquistò nel 1989 il titolo di Campione d'Italia; - dal 1975 è Dirigente del Centro di Cultura Popolare dell'UNLA (Unione Nazionale per la Lotta contro l'Analfabetismo). Ha ideato il Bibliomotocarro che dal 1999 svolge attività di promozione del libro, della lettura e della scrittura nei paesi piccoli e piccolissimi della Basilicata

Davide Cassi

Davide Cassi is professor of Soft Matter Physics at Parma University, where he founded and directs the Laboratory of Gastronomic Physics and the spin-off Future Cooking Lab. At the same university, he was the first president of the first Degree course in Gastronomic Sciences of the Italian University. For over 20 years he has collaborated with the best chefs and pastry chefs in the world, inventing new cooking techniques. In 2002 he introduced the idea of molecular cooking, later defined in the book “Il gelato estemporaneo ed altre invenzioni gastronomiche” (2005), the first manual on the theme worldwide (translated into Spanish with the title "La ciencia en los fogones"). He has participated in numerous public events and radio and television broadcasts, collaborates with Italian and foreign magazines and curates the blog Il Gastronomo Scientifico (gastronomoscientifico.blogspot.it). For his research on science and gastronomy he was awarded the International Prize Caterina de' Medici, the Tarlati Prize and the Grand Prix de la Science de l'Alimentation dell'Académie Internationale de la Gastronomie.

Giacomo Poretti

Giacomo Poretti is 33.3% of Italy's most famous comic trio. After his debut as a head nurse at an hospital near Milan, he takes the first steps in the entertainment world. In 1991 he meets Aldo and Giovanni with whom he formes the famous trio, writing the history of Italian comedy for the last 25 years. In the last few years, his well-known theatrical and cinematographic career is joined by a passion for writing, which leads him to be the Byline of several newspapers - Corriere della Sera, La Stampa and Avvenire - and the author of two best sellers (Alto come un vaso di gerani, 2012 and Al paradiso è meglio credere, 2015). In 2018 Giacomo Poretti returns to theater with Fare un'anima, a monologue written by himself, directed by Andrea Chiodi, and in 2019 he performs the reading Litigar danzando along with Daniela Cristofori.

Katia Provantini

Katia Provantini, child and adolescent psychotherapist. She carries out research in the clinical and social fields and training in the field of welfare. Always committed to fighting early school drop out, she has studied in depth social withdrawal, with a focus on the development of new clinical and social support practices. As vice president of Cooperativa Minotauro, she coordinates the psychotherapist teams and supervises the Masters. With Mondadori (2014) she published "Scuola media: manuale per la sopravvivenza" and "Generazione tablet”.

Laura Ferreri

After a M.Sc. in Cognitive Neuroscience at San Raffaele University in Milan, she obtains a Ph.D. at LEAD CNRS Laboratory in Dijon within the "European Brain and Music" Marie Curie project , which allows her to start investigating music as a tool for stimulating cognitive functions. In collaboration with Montreal Neurological Institute, she develops within the Brain Cognition & Plasticity Unit in Barcelona an important research project on the neurochemical bases of music-related reward responses and their implications in human memory modulation. Since 2018, she is associate professor in Cognitive Sciences at Lyon Lumière University, where she pursues research on the fascinating relationship between music and the brain.

Luigi De Micco

Nato a Cagliari nel 1977. Trascorre il periodo scolastico tra Stati Uniti, Portogallo, Australia e Italia. Laureato a Milano in Economia Aziendale presso l’Università Bocconi con specializzazione in Gestione delle Piccole Medie Imprese. Nei primi anni lavorativi matura esperienze nel campo della formazione aziendale, delle nuove tecnologie e come key account manager nel settore comunicazione e marketing. E' stato responsabile per la Lombardia dell'area Calcio a 5 presso il Settore Giovanile e Scolastico della Federazione Italiana Gioco Calcio. Nel 2004 crea GoKick, la prima community online nata per facilitare l'organizzazione delle partite di calcetto, in Italia e all'estero. Nel 2010 fonda PlayMore! organizzazione non profit nata per promuovere Sport, Salute e Integrazione. Con PlayMore! gestisce un Centro Sportivo Comunale di 4.000 metri quadri nel cuore di Milano, luogo in cui si sviluppano progetti di 'Sport per Tutti'. Le attività hanno l'obiettivo di promuovere la pratica sportiva integrata per persone di tutti i generi, età, cultura e abilità, oltre ogni differenza e pregiudizio. PlayMore! è un'incoraggiamento non solo a fare più sport e nuove amicizie, ma anche e mettersi più in gioco nella vita. Ama il mare, la vela, il tango, cantare in un gruppo rock (durissimo) e viaggiare in moto.

Manuela Ulivi

Laureata presso l’Università Statale di Milano e iscritta all’ Ordine degli avvocati di Milano. Dal 1991 si occupa di maltrattamento familiare, dapprima come volontaria presso lo sportello legale dell’associazione Casa di Accoglienza delle donne maltrattate, di Milano (CADMI) e poi in quanto professionista impegnata nell’assistenza legale su questi temi. L’esperienza con le donne che hanno subito violenza domestica e di genere le ha consentito di conoscere da vicino le condizioni di vita vissute da queste persone in contesti insospettabili e con modalità inimmaginabili. Si è così impegnata per modificare il contesto legislativo e istituzionale e dare risposte migliori alle necessità delle donne che subiscono violenza. Ha costituito la rete nazionale delle avvocate dei Centri antiviolenza, di cui è stata responsabile per il settore civile fino al 2018. Ha contribuito alla stesura di progetti di legge contro la violenza maschile sulle donne (L. 154/2001 Ordini di allontanamento, L. 38/2009 Stalking). E’ stata componente dei tavoli governativi presso la Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, dipartimento Pari Opportunità per la stesura del piano nazionale antiviolenza e Linee guida per pronto soccorso. Nonché formatrice in corsi universitari e delle pubbliche amministrazioni sulla normativa nazionale e internazionale e sulla sua esperienza di funzionamento della violenza contro le donne: meccanismi, come uscirne, il lavoro dei Centri antiviolenza. Da ultimo, ha contribuito alla stesura del rapporto ombra nazionale delle associazioni di donne per la valutazione dell’applicazione della Convenzione di Istanbul in Italia, legge quadro internazionale in vigore anche in Italia dal 1.8.2014.

Paolo Rigamonti

Architect, he lives and works in Milan, the city where he was born in 1963. Founder of Limiteazero, an experience design firm working at the intersection between exhibition and interaction design, data visualization, computational and graphic design. Limiteazero has worked with clients such as Toshiba, National Geographic, Alberto Aspesi, Blackberry, Enel, TIM, Eataly, Rai, Museo M9, Mudec, Palazzo delle Esposizioni di Roma, Museo Enzo Ferrari . Their projects have been exhibited in museums and art galleries worldwide. He also teaches “Design scenarios and new technologies” at the Politecnico of Milan, design department, and “Data Visualization” at NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano. Paolo has been also Creative Director of Mixedmedia, electronic culture festival held at Hangar Bicocca in Milan.

Pink Puffers Brass Band

The Pink Puffers Brass Band is a drum’n’brass Marching Band inspired by the funk of American brass bands, contaminated by the rock deviations in which most Pink Puffers musicians were born, grown and survived (and not only). The result is a genre that is not Punk and is not Funk, but it is PHUNK; a genre that goes from soul to heavy metal, going for jazz and hard rock without any limits or racial prejudice.

Tommaso Ghidini

Dr. Tommaso Ghidini is the Head of the Structures, Mechanisms and Materials Division at the European Space Agency. With its world class laboratories and computational centres, the Division guarantees the structural integrity of the entire range of ESA Space programmes and missions. After obtaining the Ph. D. in Germany, and before joining ESA, Dr. Ghidini has worked for AIRBUS on all major civil and military programmes of the European aeronautical industry including the A380, A350 and A400M aircrafts. He has received a number of international awards for major aerospace industrial achievements and developments and is invighited to lecture in some of the most prestigious European universities.

Tommaso Salaroli

Tommaso Salaroli è un giovane sognatore e ribelle. Nato e cresciuto a Roma, a soli 14 anni, Rai 3 lo definisce "l'occupante, per scelta, più giovane del Paese”: si affaccia al Cinema America (una delle realtà culturali più importanti del Centro Italia) e comincia un lungo percorso come attivista all'interno dei movimenti studenteschi romani. Curioso e sempre alla ricerca di stimoli, tra varie e brevi esperienze lavorative, ha studiato al liceo linguistico e viaggiato, anche all'interno della sua città, costruendo una fitta rete di rapporti con persone, realtà e territori. A 17 anni fonda, insieme ad un amico “Scomodo”, una rivista studentesca esclusivamente cartacea, attorno alla quale costruiscono una grande famiglia che sviluppa progetti culturali e sociali coinvolgendo e dando spazio a idee, sogni e speranze dei loro coetanei. Tommaso è la testa e le braccia di una delle più grandi realtà culturali indipendenti d'Italia che ad oggi ha coinvolto decine di migliaia di ragazzi, distribuito oltre 150.000 copie di una rivista di approfondimento indipendente e realizzato centinaia tra presentazioni, iniziative e grandi eventi.
