In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Emily Ruggeri Seshadri

Alongside doing a degree in Biomedical sciences, Emily Ruggeri Seshadri is a human rights and gender equality activist. Her interest in both medicine and gender equality has come to be useful when in her research of women's reproductive health and rights. She is an assistant in a gynaecology clinic weekly, has set up the HeforShe Society, as part of UN Women, at Birkbeck, University of London, and is collaborating with GoodLad Initative on various projects. She has directed and produced a short film on gender equality which has now been selected as a finalist in ‘Girls Impact the World’ Film Festival in the USA and is an active member of the Women's Equality Party. Her research and campaigning mainly focuses on reproductive coercion, women's reproductive health and parental responsibility and rights.

Hasan Kubba

Author, entrepreneur and startup strategist, Hasan Kubba is a specialist in technology startups, growth marketing and fundraising. With his own London-based digital marketing business and startup investment experience, Hasan is particularly strong at breaking down complex business concepts into simple and effective strategies and tactics. He is passionate about the future of tech entrepreneurship, digital disruption and inequality, and is an in-demand startup mentor to early-stage entrepreneurs, a corporate workshop trainer, and international speaker. His new book 'The Unfair Advantage - The Truth About Startup Success' co-authored with startup legend and angel investor Ash Ali (the first marketing director of Just Eat which IPO’d for $2.44 billion) is out later in 2019.

Hau-Yu Tam

Tam Hau-Yu 譚巧瑜 (Tam being the family name) is a writer, researcher and community worker. She has been involved in small community organisations across London - doing a range of projects such as teaching healthy British Chinese cooking, and co-organising with other British East Asian youths on performances and campaigns to keep our community centres & cultural heritage pulsing. Currently she is taking a break from her Master's at SOAS, Uni of London, in order to work as Co-President Democracy & Education at the Students' Union. She is an island Chinese - Hong Kongnese and Malaysian heritage, UK-born - takeaway kid, who above all digs books and theatre.

Ingeborg Senneset

Ingeborg Senneset is a Norwegian journalist in the respected daily newspaper Aftenposten, bestselling non-fiction author and event lecturer. She’s also a board member in the freedom of speech organization Norsk PEN and an associate judge in Oslo District Court. A demanded voice in TV debates, radio/podcasts and on stage; especially within the subjects of alternative medicine, psychiatry, health, human rights, critical thinking, science, religion, anti-semitism, vaccine resistance, monarchy and media critics. In her book Anorektisk she writes about her experience with eating disorders from a very young age, serious mental disorders and her experience with the Norwegian psychiatry through these years. She is nominated for the «Årets Ladejarl» award, the Book Blogger Prize, and a finalist in «Social Media personality of the year». Senneset is an educated nurse, a background and calling often shining through in texts and engagements.

Leonore Lukschy

Leonore Lukschy is a postgrad linguistics student, currently studying Language Documentation and Description at SOAS. In her studies she focuses on minoritised languages in Latin America. She is passionate about social equality and multilingualism, and is determined to debunk the myth that indigenous languages have no place in the 21st century.

Michelle Ezeuko

Michelle Ezeuko is a migrant, campaigner, facilitator, Law student and youth rights trainer. She started campaigning for migrant issues 5 years ago when she joined the campaign Let Us Learn. Michelle is also a youth rights trainer, training professionals on the immigration system from a young migrants perspective and coordinated the ‘youth rights training’ programme for Coram’s migrant children's project. Additionally she is part of on road media’s, media movers which aims to change the way the media talks about young migrants. Through her work as a trainer and facilitator Michelle is also an educational reformer and campaigns for Memorial 2007, an educational charity dedicated to erecting the first UK memorial dedicated to enslaved Africans.She is in her second year of studying law and wants to become a lawyer to utilise the courts as a site for justice.

Rebekka Mikkola

Rebekka is an industry leading entrepreneur and the visionary founder of Nordic Cuddle, one of the fastest growing cuddle therapy companies based in London, providing restorative cuddle sessions within the growing wellness sector. Nordic Cuddle offers training for those who would like to become practitioners, and are now creating partnerships with complementary organisations in a step that will shape the industry. She is a qualified cuddle therapist and massage therapist, who has been featured in GQ Magazine, The Guardian, Sky News, BBC Radio 4, Business Insider, Heart FM London, Thrive Global, Elite Daily, Holistic Health Magazine and Balance Magazine.

Tola Fisher

Tola Fisher is a freelance writer, blogger at ChristCouture.co.uk and author, currently working on her first book which will be published in early 2020 and looks into how we can find joy despite not ‘winning’ at life. She is also an ex-model, who reached the final auditions for Britain’s Next Top Model twice, flopped the interview for her dream graduate job at Christian Dior and was subsequently rejected (very politely) from roles at Company, Elle and almost every other woman’s glossy. She wants to encourage women that these ‘failures’ are not the opposite of ‘success’.
