Theme: Fission Reaction - disintegration, and reintegration of ideas.

Inspired by the realm of the sciences, the theme for this year’s conference is Fission Reaction. The analogy of the fission reaction, the disintegration, and reintegration of ideas to find new ways of thinking, when applied to the paradigm of Pakistan, can serve as a particularly effective tool for discourse, spreading of ideas and learning.

Dr. Nida Kirmani

Writer, Sociology Professor and Faculty Director at Saida Waheed Gender Initiative

A sociologist, professor, and author, Dr. Nida has pursued and disseminated a scholarly understanding of the pressing issues within our society for more than a decade now. Her work provides rare and valuable insight into key aspects of life through an amalgamation of themes ranging from violence and gender to urbanism in a Pakistani context.

Fahmida Iqbal Khan

Social Activist, Community Mobilization and Network Adviser at UNAIDS office for Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Ms. Fahmida is currently working as the Community Mobilization and Networking Advisor with the UNAIDS Country Office for Pakistan and Afghanistan. Her work spans over a variety of actors, from the wider public to governments, to shed light on HIV. Additionally, she is a strong advocate for human rights and a voice against violence faced by women and girls.

Hisham Sarwar

Mr. Hisham exemplifies entrepreneurial prowess and a passion for mentoring young talent. Starting out as a freelancer himself, he went on to found various platforms and today is spearheading a nationwide campaign to groom certified freelancers for Pakistan’s workforce. He is truly a beacon of light for the emerging entrepreneurs of this country.

Mr. Sohail is a renowned investigator for the Justice Project Pakistan; a non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding the legal and investigative rights of those who face the ultimate punishment- the death penalty. Having firsthand experience of the brutalities faced by prisoners, he is a strong advocate for justice and a ray of hope for those who have given up otherwise.

A strong-willed representative of the arts, Ms. Zoe Viccaji has moved the entire nation with her talents. From Coke Studio to stage musicals such as Mamma Mia and Chicago, she's always left the audience in awe over the way her strong yet melodious voice hits every note.
