Com o tema "Culturas" queremos provocar, em nossa comunidade, a reflexão sobre as expressões das identidades culturais, seus valores, crenças e produções, tangíveis e simbólicas. A cultura, entendida como aquilo que singulariza pessoas e grupos, uns em relação aos outros, remete à constatação da coexistência de diversas culturas em um mesmo espaço, seja ele uma comunidade ou um país. É na diversidade cultural que ressignificamos quem fomos, quem somos e quem queremos ser. E este é o grande objetivo desta 9ª edição: expor a diversidade cultural presente em nosso cotidiano.

EN - She holds a PhD in Education from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and she is a professor at the institution. Ever since she was a child, Carolina has loved children's books, drawings and cultural productions. However, because she is deaf, she always found it difficult to consume these productions. When she grew up, she decided to teach deaf children and this experience led her to create the Mãos Aventureiras project, which translates to “Adventurous Hands”, aiming to foster culture and education for deaf children. EN - He holds a degree in journalism and a postgraduate degree in documentary film. He has worked for three years at TV Globo and today is a partner of the audiovisual production company “SeuFilme”, having several documentaries in his curriculum. His first feature film, “Meu Nome é Daniel,”, which translates to “My Name is Daniel”, released in 2019, is eligible for the Oscar 2020. Taking his personal experience as a starting point, Daniel spoke about how people with disabilities are still viewed by society. He explains ways to escape the stereotypes of the poor guy or the hero who has overcome all difficulties.Daya Moraes

EN - She is a pop singer and also stands out for the many roles she performs in her work as a songwriter, producer, and actress. Her music brings a hint of pop, funk and contemporary R&B. In the songs she composes and in her shows, she talks about acceptance, plurality, self-love, diversity, and empowerment. Daya Moraes performed at the TEDxUnisinos stage, she sang “Dama Hipócrita”, which translates to “Hypocrite Lady”, and two other songs from her new album. “Lua e Linda e Afrontosa” is the first single from the CD which talks about acceptance, self-love and freedom without standards.Douglas Veit

EN - He is a pioneer in the study of glaciological science in Brazil, he has participated in 23 scientific expeditions to the two polar regions of the planet, and he received awards for his scientific contributions. Jefferson is a Polar Geography and Glaciology professor at UFRGS, PhD in Glaciology from the University of Cambridge (England) and Vice President of the International Committee on Antarctic Research. EN - She is a Macuxi people’s descendant, an indigenous population that inhabits the border region between the Guianas and Brazil. She is a PhD student in Theory of Literature and the organizer of the book “Literatura indígena brasileira contemporânea: criação, crítica e recepção”, which translates to “Contemporary Brazilian Indigenous Literature: creation, criticism and reception”, and her research contributes to dissolve misconceptions through new perspectives for people from Brazil. EN - He is a Systems Analyst and accomplished his dream of becoming a father after adopting two brothers aged 4 and 7, respectively. Following the adoption, Nilson created the “Pais de Coração” project, which translates to “Parents from the Heart” and helps inspire, accelerate and qualify the adoption of children and adolescents. His projects are inspired by technology and he was the "Adoption" app’s developer. He also wrote a book which shares his project’s name, in which he tells real stories by his children. Nilson shared with us true love stories between him and his children from heart. He unveils what is seen only with the heart of a father, with a heart of love.
