Raj Shah
Founder, Math Plus Academy
My passion is making math irresistible for students. I've always had an affinity for math and teaching. My love of math led me on a path that included a Ph.D. in Physics in 1999 and a decade of research and development at Intel Corp. In 2008, I quit Intel and founded Math Plus Academy, an after-school STEM enrichment program for kids from 5 – 14 years old. I've dedicated that last 11 years to inspiring future mathematicians at Math Plus Academy and also sharing what I've learned in the math classroom with math teachers over around the country. I've worked with several local school districts including Hilliard Schools. I also host a non-profit event called Julia Robinson Math Festival. The festival engages many types of students through creative problem solving and critical thinking. Finally, I am a founding member of the Global Math Project which is on a mission to help students experience joyful math in schools.
