Alshima Mohamed

trained veterinary executive in Sudan

ALshima Mohamed studied veterinary medicine and worked briefly as a trained veterinary executive in Sudan. She then developed her Agripreneurship skills and spent the early part of her career on livestock farming. Due to her incredible highlights, she was given an opportunity to further develop her skills on the ENABLE youth program focusing on aquaculture in Sudan. While in fish farming production, she identified real challenges Aquaculture farmers in Sudan faced on a daily basis such as low productivity due to poor technical and administrative support. The closer she got to the challenges, the more opportunities she envisaged. Shima and her partner Mohamed then decided to shift their fish production business model to fish farm services. EMPOWER is the outcome of that shift. EMPOWER is a consultancy company that provides technical and administrative support such as access to finance, insurance and investment platforms for Aquaculture Farmers in Sudan.
