TEDxUTsukuba

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

How can we be sure a creator’s product will have the impact the creator wants it to have? To make sure what a creator wants to convey is reflected in their product, their design needs to be thought with omoiyari to the kansei. Or: A design with omoiyari to the kansei can guarantee what is conveyed is what the creator wants to. Or: To guarantee a product has the desired impact, it should be thoughtfully conceived with the creator’s will and intent. Professor Lee Seung Hee from University of Tsukuba will convey her feelings, ideas and sensitivity; in short, her kansei. The act of conveying her kansei is represented by the word omoiyari - “considerate caring for others”, the principle of committing to her design.
