In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Debadityo Sinha

Ecologist

Debadityo is a Senior Resident Fellow working in the area of Environment. He is leading projects related to implementation of key legislations and judgments dealing with environmental protection and restitution. He has over 8 years of professional experience in issues related to environmental protection and has worked with organizations like Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre, Legal Initiative for Forest & Environment, WWF-India, Wildlife Trust of India and several grassroots organizations. He has received the Sanctuary Wildlife Service Award' (2019) for his contribution to conservation of lesser known wildlife habitats in Uttar Pradesh. Debadityo has initiated several litigations in the National Green Tribunal on issues related to environmental clearance, declaration of eco-sensitive zones and compensation for environmental damage.

Gunjan Menon

Wildlife Filmmaker

Gunjan Menon is an independent wildlife filmmaker and writer from India. She specializes in conservation and human interest stories. Her work has been seen on Animal Planet, Discovery, BBC Earth, along with other local Indian platforms. This year, she was a virtual cinematography mentor at the NEWF Wild Women Media Lab, an initiative to guide ten women in conservation science and media from seven countries in Africa through the process of producing a micro-film. She strives to shift the limelight to lesser-known species and habitats and practices a cross-genre approach to bring climate and wildlife stories to the masses. She is the Founder of ‘Beyond Premieres’, an organization that supports filmmakers to create tangible impact through their art. Gunjan was recently awarded the Jackson Wild Media Award as the Rising Star 2020 for her contributions in the field of nature, conservation, and science media.
