In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alper Saldıran

Actor

Alper Saldıran graduated from Yeditepe University Theater Department. While at university, he brought the character Yusuf from Turgut Özakman’s “Fehim Paşa Mansion” to life. With this role, he won Best Supporting Actor award at the intercollegiate theater contest. While completing his internship, he was introduced to the camera with the advertisement proposal. He appeared in his first television series with his role as Burak in “Bir Dilim Aşk.” He took part in important productions such as Mustafa in Kalbim Ege’de Kaldı, Beni Böyle Sev, İnsanlar Alemi, Sağ Salim, Böyle Bitmesin and Masumlar Apartmanı.

Ece Yalım

Industrial Designer, Interior Architect

Ece Yalım graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Industrial Design. Between 1991 and 1994 she worked as an interior designer in the 'Naomi Leff and Associates Interior Design' New York project group. Among the projects she has carried out are Steven Spielberg's and Tom Cruise's residences. She has founded Artful Interior Architecture firm with Oğuz Yalım in 1996 and Ece Yalım Design Studio in 2004.

Gamze Cizreli

Entrepreneur

Gamze Cizreli founded the BigChefs brand in 2007. Today, BigChefs has reached a total of 65 branches and 3000 employees in 7 countries. She is one of the first Turkish women entrepreneurs to have the chance to speak at the United Nations General Assembly. In 2010, she won the 1st place in the "Women Entrepreneur" competition. She wrote gourmet and travel articles in various magazines and newspapers.

Tan Sağtürk

Ballet Dancer, Choreographer

Tan Sağtürk has been in 3 State Ballets in France: "Opera Garnier", "French State Ballet-Nancy" and "French State Ballet-Marseille".He was the first Turkish artist to enter this important group by performing a dance at the Ballet National de France de Nancy between 1991 and 1997, under the direction of Pierre Lacotte. Sağtürk, who was represented by the most important stages in the world, returned to Turkey in 1997 and worked at İstanbul State Opera and Ballet as lead ballet for two years. Thousands of students are being educated in schools founded by Tan Sağtürk in Turkey. Currently, he is continuing to work as a choreographer at Istanbul State Opera and Ballet.

Yavuz Nuri Ertaş

Biomedical Engineer

Dr. Yavuz Nuri Ertaş completed his undergraduate education at Başkent University Biomedical Engineering Department, and his graduate studies at Bilkent University, UNAM (National Nanotechnology Research Center), in the Materials Science and Nanotechnology program. During his master's degree, he conducted research on microfluidic sensors and improved himself in the field of micro-nano fabrication. He managed to produce the most magnetic Gadolinium (Gd) particles ever obtained in the laboratory environment. He established his laboratory in Erciyes University Nanotechnology Research Center and still continues his research on micro/nano structures.
