In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Awais Khan

Awais Khan is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Durham University. He has studied Creative Writing at Faber Academy in London. He is the Founding Director of The Writing Institute, Pakistan's largest institution for creative writing. He is the author of the critically acclaimed In the Company of Strangers (Simon & Schuster and Isis Audio) and the upcoming No Honour (Orenda Books and Isis Audio). His books have been reviewed in Khaleej Times, Woman & Home, Free Press Journal, Mashable, HELLO!, Book Riot to name a few.

Zafar Masud is a seasoned banker and entrepreneur, focused on Development Finance, with over 27 years of proven track record of success and delivery. He’s serving as President & CEO of The Bank of Punjab (BOP), since April 2020, which has a network of 636 branches with ~US$7Bn balance sheet and ~13000 staff. He has extensive experience of working at Board of Directors level for major public and private sector entities. He also contributed as member of IMF motivated Task Force on Framing SOE Law, set-up by the Ministry of Finance. He is also a regular contributor to the local media on the topics of finance, economics and energy. His articles has been compiled in a book form called “Out of the Box”. In May 2020, he had survived PK8303 airplane crash in Karachi. His colleagues dedicated a book to him called “The Miraculous Survivor”.
