No. Did they fear the notion of changing course and starting anew? No. Human nature often seeks to circumvent additional hard work, therefore limiting our potential. To unlearn this approach, TEDxYouth@NMS brings to you – Reconstruction, where philosophies extend to all facets of life- from occupational approaches to life goals. We put forth a world where rebuilding that constructs from the ground is applauded and paradigm shifts are celebrated. After all, “You need to be the change you want to see in the world”.

Serial Entrepreneur

Aayush Bansal is a 27-year-old serial entrepreneur from Mumbai, who started his journey at the age of 20 in the healthcare industry. His professional proficiencies in Business & Brand Strategy, Digital Marketing and Start-Up Development led him to create his own agency called Black Cab. Black Cab, a creative and digital marketing agency, uses in-depth strategy, innovative marketing, engaging content and impactful design in an aim to create brand value and drive it to higher heights. Mr. Bansal has dedicated immense time and effort to grow this venture from a 2 person team to more than 60 strategic members, having worked with over 150 clients such as JioSaavn, Cadbury, T series, BMW, Facebook, Instagram, and several others. Their goal is to create value by forming progressive partnerships, and in doing so, achieve everything that their clients believe in.

Aleina Gandhi

Student

Aleina Gandhi is an avid writer, fashion enthusiast, and passionate activist, she founded and runs Frivolous, an E-magazine and safe space for girls and women of all ages to bond over music, fashion and feminism. She is a keen biology and chemistry student, with an interest in coding and statistics. Aleina is a talented pianist in addition to being a dancer with over 10 years of experience. She also has a flair for languages, articulate in both Spanish and French.

Dr. Urvashi Sahani

Social Entrepreneur

Dr. Urvashi Sahni, who obtained her MA and PhD in Education at UC Berkeley, is a social entrepreneur and women’s rights activist, working to transform education for 35 years. A pioneer in her field, she’s a prime expert and practitioner in education innovation, school governance, curriculum reform and teacher training. Her vexation towards dehumanization and despotism of girls fueled her to found 3 of her own organizations aimed towards women’s rights, educational reforms and sustainable livelihoods for women. She is currently president and CEO of one of her organizations, through which her work has impacted over 100,000 teachers and 5 million children, most of whom are girls from marginalized communities. She participated in consultations for the development of India’s National Educational Policy 2020. She was nominated by the state government to join the Steering Committee of Primary and Secondary Education Groups for the implementation of the new policy in Uttar Pradesh.

Dwarkadas Suresh

Sustainability Activist

An IIT-Madras and IIM-Ahmedabad graduate, the social media sensation- Dwarkadas Suresh, more prominently known as 'Solar Suresh'. His home is designed to be self sufficient by using solar panels, rain water harvesting, biogas, terrace gardens and an Air-o-water machine, which makes drinking water out of air. He decided to apply his new-found knowledge by designing a self-sufficient household. Sir Suresh says that setting up solar plants is eco-friendly and economically viable for homes, businesses and public sector institutes such as hospitals, schools and colleges. So far, he has succeeded in setting up solar power plants, biogas plants and kitchen gardens in several households, schools, and offices. He has also given presentations in 20+ institutions, presenting the idea of sustainable living being an old concept society has neglected and just needs a little reminding so the realisation of ‘a comfortable life can be led without being dependent on other people’ is spread.

Kaustubh Jain

Founder , Chasing Equity

Kaustubh Jain, a 17 year old changemaker, is a grade 12 student at Neerja Modi School. An international debater representing India at the World Schools Debating Championship, he is one of the few people in Indian history to make the Indian debate squad 3 consecutive times. Being a National level tennis player himself, he is also the founder of chasing equity, a social organisation that aims to raise awareness about gender equality in sports through weekly updates, blogs, and research on schemes surrounding women’s sport in India. In addition to being an intern at the Indian National Congress, Kaustubh has also authored research papers on issues such as child abuse in educational institutes as well as biodiversity loss and economic growth, all of which adeptly reflect his passion and curiosity for economics.

Working as an independent researcher, she has designed research firms, social organisations on User Research and Research Strategy while consulting for early stage startups. Additionally, Ms Kavitha Narayanan steers countless projects end-to-end with clients and simultaneously provides research advisory. While studying a plethora of technologies at different stages with multiple applications, she has also co-taught and co-designed courses at Graduate and Undergraduate levels.
