Theme: (Un)troubled

This event occurred on
January 30, 2022
Tokyo, Tôkyô
Japan

This year, our theme is “Untroubled” (read ‘troubled’). Being “untroubled” may seem like a positive state. However, it is defined as ‘not feeling, showing, or affected by anxiety or problems’.
When you are faced with a troubling situation, what kind of actions would you take? You may wish to try your best to avoid the problem. However, TEDxICU believes that we can learn and encounter new ideas only by getting out of our unconcerned and ignorant state. That is why we cross out the “un” from the word untroubled. By being “troubled” by our doubts and questions towards the world, we can gain new understandings that we otherwise would not have experienced if we were untroubled. We hope that this event provides you with new perspectives toward society and on your own self.
