In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jeremy May is an ICF certified coach and a Leadership and Professional Development Learning Facilitator. He currently co-chairs a Regional Business Resource Group focused on Hispanics Organizing Hope and Engagement. His personal purpose statement is to help others realize and achieve goals that provide meaning in their lives. This purpose statement has led him to lean into uncomfortable conversations and strive to create an environment where others feel a sense of belonging. Jeremy has worked with countless leaders to help them identify unconscious bias and develop action plans that create equitable environments. His work related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion moves beyond the professional world as he works to instill values of equity into his two children and call his friends and family into conversations that drive change.

Katherine Helm

Katherine Helm, PhD is a Professor of Psychology and Director of Graduate Programs in Counseling at Lewis University, Romeoville, IL. She is also a practicing psychologist in part-time private where she sees individuals and couples. Katherine has authored several publications about racial and cultural issues in mental health, couples’ issues, and pedagogy in multicultural courses and has an extensive background facilitating counselor trainings. Katherine has had several media appearances on radio and video. She is a sought-after author, presenter, public speaker, professional trainer, and clinical supervisor.

Lisa Johnson

Lisa Johnson, SHRM-SCP is a professional speaker, author and leadership coach. As owner of HR Know-How consultancy she helps busy professionals build their leadership skills. She is published in the anthology Imagination@Work: Shifting Boundaries in The Modern Workplace. She is a member of the National Speakers Association. She serves on the Board of Directors of Town & Country Bank and Trust Company and of Catholic Charities of Louisville. She is Immediate Past President of the Louisville Society for Human Resource Management and HR Director for Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Lisa is a 1998 alumnus of Lewis University.

Mark Serratore

Marketing Professional

Mark Serratore graduated from Lewis University in 2010 with a degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting. He went on to work in many industries, including radio, advertising, minor league baseball, and grocery before finding his current position in the marketing department of the Village of Romeoville. He spent four years as a Toastmaster, giving 22 speeches and winning awards for three of them. An avid baseball fan, he has visited 30 MLB parks and attended more than 160 games.

Nicole Reidy

Licensed Clinical Social Worke

Nicole Reidy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Lewis University. Shortly after graduation, Nicole enrolled at Aurora University to earn her Masters of Social Work with a dual specialization in Gerontology and Healthcare. She continued at Aurora University to earn her Doctorate of Social Work and graduated in May of 2021. Nicole's journey of social work careers includes working with survivors of domestic violence, providing bereavement counseling, and supporting older adults and caregivers with mental health counseling. She is now working at University of Chicago Medicine as a Social Worker II in the Neurology Department, specifically with the Movement Related Disorders Clinic. Nicole's passions include working with older adults and assisting patients through grief and ambiguous loss.
