Theme: SPECTRUM

By general definition, a spectrum is a range of different colors, produced when light passes through a glass prism or through a drop of water.
However, Spectrum represents a lot more. A range of colors, ethnicities, and traditions; a range of ideas, opinions, and practices; a range of gender, interests, and personalities. A condition is not limited to a specific set of rules or values but can vary, without gaps, across a continuum. It makes its own path and leads its own way- in flying colors (quite literally).
How do you view the world? In black and white? Or in an abundance of colors? Do you always see the world, people, and situations through a tiny lens that only shows two points of extremity? Or do you see a middle ground- a plethora of possibilities and an ocean of opportunities?

Humans aren't necessarily the most complex beings on this planet but put a population of 7.75 billion of them together and boom- you've got a whole range, ahem, SPECTRUM of compounded difficulties to be challenged with.

Bhaskar Rao

Bhaskar Rao IPS is a graduate of 1990 batch Indian police officer turned politician who served as the Commissioner of Bengaluru City Police, from 2 August 2019 to 1 August 2020. He was previously Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in the Karnataka State Reserve Police as well as ADGP, Internal security Division. Mr. Rao also served as the Railways ADGP before retiring on 1st April 2022. In his tenure as the commissioner, he deployed mannequins who were dressed as police at selective places to encourage people to abide by laws. He had banned taking photographs of covid -19 patients without their consent to protect their privacy. He was awarded the United Nations Medal for the Services rendered in International Peacekeeping in a warzone (Kosovo, Yugoslavia) in the year 2000. He was awarded the "Police medal for meritorious service" on Indian Independence day in 2008. He was awarded the "President's Medal" for distinguished service on the occasion of Independence Day in 2015. Officer Bhaskar Rao has always been passionate about empowering everyone.

Dr. Mythri Shankar

A postgraduate residency trainee of UCLA, Dr. Mythri Shankar is a renowned physician specializing in nuclear medicine and lifestyle medicine. Extensively known for training in several prestigious universities such as Cedars Sinai, University of Texas, and Harvard Medical School, she excelled in her professional work as a physician. Her experience has helped make significant progress in radioactive injection procedures. With over 20 years of clinical expertise, she now resides in Bangalore where she contributes vastly to the field of medical research and academic projects. An entrepreneur (IIM-B Alumni), Women’s Health Activist, and Founder Trustee of Osteoporosis Foundation, she is a traditional woman at heart, who believes in eco-friendly living and conforming our mindsets to healthier lifestyles. A charismatic change maker, her work in Environmental Activism has greatly influenced the ecological community positively, promoting healthy, mindful living among modern urban societies.

Guhan Subramaniam

"I believe that the most important investment we can make today is in our children and their childhood!" says Guhan, one of the co-founders & a Director on the board of Key Education Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation focused on early childhood education. He advises select businesses on growth strategies and capital infusion. Guhan Subramaniam received his bachelor's degree in economics from Nowrosjee Wadia College of the University of Pune. He got his postgraduate degree in Business Management from the Symbiosis Institute of Management, University of Pune. He was an active participating member on the board of 14 companies, 3 of which are listed on India's stock exchanges. He was a managing partner at IL&FS Private Equity, one of the largest private equity fund managers in India. Guhan lives in Bangalore with his family and two adorable dogs. Guhan Subramaniam has over 40 years of experience. He is a man who fits the role of a leader, a man we could learn a lot from.

Raashid Navlakhi

Raashid Navlakhi is a striving businessman who founded Jigsaw Thinking : A platform that seeks to guide 10,000 self-starters to build a life of freedom by 2025. He is a Business Coach who guides self-starters on their journey toward creative and financial freedom. To advance towards his one genuine passion—entrepreneurship—he merged his knowledge from business schools in the UK, strategic consulting at Accenture (London), and started his social venture, I for Indya. He is a huge Potter-head. When he’s not helping an entrepreneur through a business challenge, he’s busy reading Harry Potter. Raashid is very enthusiastic and competitive about the game of football and he also enjoys playing poker and the board game Catan. He is an ambitious and inspiring personality, who hopes to transform India into a country of job creators, not job seekers!!

Richard Tholoor

The very first thing you'd notice about Richard Tholoor is his fun-loving personality, warm humor, and calm & collected composure. Being an International Dance Champion, his style of teaching is of international standards, and the knowledge imparted is very authentic and has a history of turning absolute non-dancers into champions. He founded the Richard David Tholoor Dance Project (RDTDP), a dance organization that teaches a plethora of dance styles ranging from salsa & bachata to semi-classical & hip-hop. His extensive travels and competitions across the globe keep him up to date with the current trends in the Latin dance world. With this very knowledge, he secured the Championship title in the World Latin Dance Qualifier, Las Vegas 2017; European Salsa Championships 2007, and numerous other awards To top it all off, he is a Limca Book Of Records holder - for performing the most number of partnered spins (127 in 1 min to be precise), in 2012. His commitment and love for the art form are reflected in how he 'uses his mind to push himself when his body tires'. And that is why Richard David Tholoor is a perfect amalgamation of fun and uniqueness.

Sharon Joseph

The Founder and CEO at CREWASIS, Sharon Joseph is a thought leader in developing her own intersection of technology, statistics and strategy. She graduated from Harvard Business School and founded a certified minority-owned, women-led business based in New York, and is a Fortune 500 executive! She uses CREWASIS and their data science teams to help other companies like GlaxoSmithKline, Walmart, Red Bull, and many more make better business decisions by translating complex data sets into actionable strategies, insights, and trends. Sharon is a data science enthusiast and she's worked in CPG companies for the last 27 years, straddling the line between marketing and sales fundamentals to find innovative ways to grow businesses through mining deeper into data, past her competitors. She has an adorable dog named Winston. She is also zealous about encouraging more women to join the STEM fields.

Varna Prakash

Varna Prakash, a young woman in her 20's is an Instagram blogger. With her immense love for food and ever-growing wanderlust, she decided to explore her city, Bengaluru, while food hunting. She is a budding engineering graduate, who found her passion in food and went on to make it her profession. She’s traveled far and wide, while still being in Bangalore, as her Instagram page boomed to a whopping 26K followers. During her school and college days, she would explore places on her own and try and experiment with new restaurants in the area. She would save up her pocket money and spend it all on food. Since people around her would ask for her recommendations frequently, she decided to make a blog to help reach more people. So on May 1st, 2019, she started her page. And chose 'I’m still hungry. Since she has a love for writing about food, she is active even on Zomato and LBB Bangalore. She started her page so that it could help people. And after 3 years of working on this dream of hers, she now collaborates and promotes exciting brands such as Brownie Magix, Pebo, Sling Spirits, and much more. With her intent to help youngsters find their passion and live a life they love, Varna looks forward to kindling a spark of fire within all our hearts.
