Pam Durkee
After receiving her PhD in genetics at Colorado State University, Pam Durkee came to the Monterey Peninsula with her husband, Phil, and young son, Chris in 1984. She taught Biology at Hartnell College for 15 years before coming to York School, where she has been teaching in the Math/Science department since 1999. Three sons (all York alums - Chris, class of 2002, Tim, class of 2004, and Andrew, class of 2008), and six dogs later, Pam has discovered some striking similarities between raising children, teaching math and science, and engaging in performance sports with dogs. She is passionate about each one, and was/is quite happy to spend the bulk of her time pursuing activities associated with any one of them.
