Ali Al Muhanna

HS Senior

Ali Hani AlMuhanna is a senior in high school at the American School of Kuwait. Driven by a passion for psychology, AlMuhanna is interested in the effect societal factors have on human behavior which influenced him to publish the fictional memoir “A Cruel Path To Clear Perception”.

Ammar Malek

ASK Senior

Ammar Malek and Yousif Alozairi recently graduated from the American School of Kuwait and are both originally from Kuwait. They are deeply passionate about the sciences, constantly pondering the inner workings of the world around them. Their frequent paradoxical yet casual conversations inspired them to peer even deeper into the realm of mathematics, kickstarting their journey towards re-learning and breaking down our perception of numbers.

I am from Princeton, Kentucky. I teach US History, AP US History, Sociology. I've been in Kuwait for 11 years. I love teaching and spending time with friends and family. I am married and have 3 amazing children.

Gabriel DiMauro

High School Assistant Principal

Born and raised in what was once known as the New World (USA), Mr. Di Mauro emigrated to what was once known as the Old World (Europe) to pursue graduate studies and, more importantly, the love of his life. Happily married 10 years later, in just as much time he has earned an MA in Political Studies, an MA in Educational Leadership and Management, taught 5 different subjects grades 7-12, held leadership positions in 3 International Schools, and had thousands of difficult conversations. He’s lived in the USA, France, Mozambique, and is now happily settling down in Kuwait. He speaks 3.5 languages, plays decent campfire guitar, enjoys reading obscure French literature and just learned how to ski. Failing forward now has a whole new meaning for him.

Jiye Back

HS Freshman

Jiye Back is a Korean freshman at the American School of Kuwait. A passionate learner, Jiye is interested in learning languages, solving math problems, coding, and fashion.

Jude Mohammad

HS Senior

Jude Mohammad is a high school senior at the American School of Kuwait. She is half-American, half-Kuwaiti, and seeks to explore the different ways we can push the boundaries of education; as demonstrated through the work of her former teacher, Dr. Lora Hawkins.

Melanie Abou Saleh

HS Freshman

Melanie Abou Saleh is a freshman high honor roll student at the American School of Kuwait. From a mixed background of German, Kuwaiti and Lebanese she has been surrounded by the arts and has been acting, singing and dancing since the young age of three. As well as sports and other activities she is an active bright student with several accomplishments in language arts, model united nations, volunteering, leading, football and performing.

Misk Al Bahar

HS Freshman

Misk Al Bahar is currently in grade 9 and is from Kuwait. She plays multiple instruments including: oboe, violin, and the piano. She enjoys any outdoor activities and loves to read.

Mohamad Charaf

ASK Senior

Mohamad Charaf is a senior at the American School of Kuwait. With a vested interest in volunteering and community engagement, he is actively involved in his local community. Originally Palestinian, Mohamad dreams of experiencing the Palestinian lifestyle and visiting his beautiful homeland one day.

Tammy Jones

Educator

Tammy Jones has been an educator of secondary social studies for thirty-one years. Teaching twenty years in Texas and then abroad in Bahrain, South Korea, and Kuwait. She earned a history degree from Tarleton State University and is currently working on her master's degree in history from Eastern Illinois University. She has two grown children, an engineer daughter in New Zealand and a graphic artist son in Texas. She lives with her three rescued cats in Kuwait.
