The CONFLUX official conference will take place from 4-9.30pm in South Kensington on the 28th of April 2023. This official event follows the globally accepted TEDx format in which speakers speak for a duration of 13-18 minutes on multidimensional topics to inspire people with ideas worth spreading. Our event will follow the same format, with talks divided into 3 streams:

- Future and Innovation, featuring Roma Agrawal, Shaun Flores, and Kevin Buzzard

- Community and Introspection, featuring Dr. Grant Van Ulbrich, Zoe Barnett, and Johnson Situ

- Synergy and Nature, featuring Hassan Esufally, Aryan Shah, and Shreyas Kuchibhotla

- Grand Finale: ChatGPT's first ever TED talk on tomorrow's humanity

Aryan Shah

Aryan Shah is a second-year Earth and Planetary Science student at Imperial College London with a passion for deep tech innovation, ocean technology, and robotics.

Chat GPT

ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer) is a large language model-based chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched on November 30, 2022, notable for enabling users to refine and steer a conversation towards a desired length, format, style, level of detail, and language used. Successive prompts and replies, known as prompt engineering, are taken into account at each stage of the conversation as a context.

Dr. Grant Van Ulbrich

Dr. Grant Van Ulbrich is the global director of sales transformation at Royal Caribbean International cruise line. He is the first in the cruise and hospitality industry to graduate with a master's and doctoral program focused on leading sales transformation. He is a certified sales transformation coach, author, and is academically published. Grant's passion relies on leading transformation that champions individual inclusion.

Hassan Esufally

Hassan is an adventurer, athlete, professional speaker, and entrepreneur. He has travelled to over 70 countries across all seven continents with some incredible adventures on each one. He is currently studying business and entrepreneurship at the University of Cambridge and is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

Johnson Situ

Johnson Situ is a Senior Adviser to the Mayor of London. Prior to this role, he was an elected Councillor in the London borough of Southwark for over 7 years. Serving on Southwark Council's Cabinet in a range of roles including Cabinet Member for Growth, Development, Transport, and Jobs. He started his professional career working in the International development sector. Johnson aims to explore what Martin Luther King may have meant when he said in the autumn of 1967 - “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends”. The talk will also draw on his personal experience to highlight how history is filled with people who have spoken up as part of unlikely alliances.

Kevin Buzzard

Kevin Buzzard got his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 1995 and settled in London after staying in Berkeley, Harvard, and the Princeton IAS. He became a professor of pure mathematics at Imperial College London.

Shaun Flores

Shaun is a creative who knows no boundaries, an influencer aiming to have the right influence on the world. Throughout his career, he has aimed to raise awareness of OCD, a mental illness that remains severely underfunded and under-researched. His vision is summarised by the following quote: "He who has a why can endure any suffering."

Shreyas Kuchibhotla

Shreyas Kuchibhotla is a second-year Biomedical Engineering student at Imperial College London with a passion for the wild, particularly all things serpentine. Apart from pursuing his academic interest in venomics, he spends most of his time in his natural habitat searching for and photographing reptiles and creepy-crawlies.

Zoe Barnett

Zoe Barnett is an award-winning classical guitarist currently studying at the Royal College of Music. She is a Young Artist for the International Guitar Foundation and regularly performs across the U.K.
