Theme: All Good Things

TEDxFukuoka presents this year’s theme, “All Good Things”. The event features 13 wonderful speakers who each embody the passion and inspiration behind TED spirit. They will share their inspiration and ideas with Fukuoka and the world. Stay after the sessions for the chance to mingle with both the speakers and participants.

Chika Tsubouchi

President of GHIBLI

Chika established the "Hagi-Oshima Sendanmaru (Fleet)" project with 60 fishers. As Sendanmaru's representative director, she applied for national certification as a "sixth industrialization" project and began to ship out products under this brand. Her interest in food stems from her own cancer experience and a desire to provide safe and secure food from the primary sector. Fishers nationwide are engaged in marine environment conservation under this sustainable fishing brand. Chika works with fishing cooperatives to identify shipping routes and develop sales channels, and since 2015, has been involved in reconstruction work on fishing ports in Fukushima as she continues to develop the Sendanmaru brand. 坪内 知佳: 移住した萩市で2010年漁師たちと出会い、知見のなかった漁業の世界に飛び込んだ後、約60人の漁業者をまとめ「萩大島船団丸」を設立し代表に就任する。農林水産省に6次産業化の認定を申請し、自家出荷を開始。 癌を患った経験から食への関心が高く、一次産業から安心・安全な食材の供給に従事したいと考えるようになる。持続可能な漁業を目指す船団丸には全国から漁業者が集い、海洋環境保全にも取り組む。漁協との調整や出荷ルートの確保、販路開拓を手がけ2015年より福島県の漁港の復興にも携わる。船団丸ブランドを全国で展開し、地方創生のため勢力的な活動を続ける。

Ippei Matsukiyo

Korean HR matching / inbound marketing specialist

The son of a watchmaker, Ippei's samurai roots run deep. A rugby player from a young age in the unpretentious position of hooker, Ippei found a job covering stories in Korea. As he learned Korean, he experienced a paradigm shift that forever altered his worldview: the desire to create business with neighboring countries. He reskilled himself in business administration, specializing in finance, accounting, business strategy theory and marketing, and founded Asia Future in 2007. With marketing and recruiting for Korea at the heart of its operations, his company is often referred to as a “bridge between Japan and Korea”, but its business concept is best described as at “forefront of business and communication" between these countries. 松清 一平: 福岡市生まれの時計屋のせがれだが、国境の島「対馬」の武家を祖先に持つ。幼少期からラグビーを始め、フッカーという地味なポジションを黙々とこなした。メディアに入社後、韓国での取材と韓国語の学習でパラダイムシフトする。隣国との間で事業創造をしたいと考え、経営学をリスキリング。財務・会計・戦略論・マーケティングが得意分野となり2007年に創業。韓国向けのマーケティングとリクルーティングが主幹事業。「日韓の架け橋」などとよく言われるが、事業コンセプトは「日韓の矢面（やおもて）」である。

Kei Taira

Urban Circular Lifestyle Designer/ LFC composting adviser

A composting trainer and advisor for Local Food Cycling Co., Ltd. and Director of the NPO Sustainable Lifestyle Laboratory. As an intern at the NPO while a university student, she was involved in the "Half Farmer/Half Urbanite Lifestyle" program, composting courses, and the launch of the Local Food Cycling project, which focuses on resource recycling of organic waste within a 2-km radius. Taira completed a Master's in March 2019 at Rikkyo University's Graduate School of Social Design Studies, where she researched the potential of community composting. She currently works as a composting advisor to promote and support the ongoing activities for LFC composting, mainly in the Kanto region. 平 希井: ローカルフードサイクリング株式会社コンポストトレーナー兼アドバイザー。NPO法人循環生活研究所理事。大学時代、NPO法人循環生活研究所でインターンとして、半農都会人活動、コンポスト講座、半径2㎞の生ごみの資源循環を実践する事業、Local Food Cycling事業の立ち上げに関わる。コミュニティコンポストの可能性を研究テーマとし、立教大学大学院21世紀社会デザイン研究科2019年3月博士前期課程修了。現在は、コンポストアドバイザーとして関東を中心にLFCコンポストの普及・継続支援を行っている。

Kozo Hino

Founder of Internet High School/Education Innovator

After working in the ICT industry as a director, Kozo decided to set up a correspondence high school in 1999 and founded Tokyo Inter-High School and Atmark Cosmopolitan High School. Since Naoki Higashida, an autistic writer, attended Atmark Cosmopolitan High School, Kozo has felt a strong vocation to helping students with developmental disabilities learn. He founded and became the headmaster of Meihokan High School in 2009. Since opening the first Special Needs Education Center (SNEC) in Shinagawa/Gotenyama in 2013, others have been set up around Japan in a total of 36 locations. SNECs are attracting attention as unique special needs education and human resources development centers, without precedence or parallel in regular high school curriculums. 日野 公三: ㈱リクルート、㈱ケイネット取締役などICT業界を経て1999年、通信制高校をつくろうと思い立つ。東京インターハイスクール、アットマーク国際高等学校を創立。自閉症作家として活躍する東田直樹さんを受入れて以来、発達障害を持つ生徒の学びに大きな使命感を持ち、2009年には明蓬館高等学校を創立、校長に就任。2013年にSNECを品川・御殿山に第一号として開設以降、全国36か所に開設。普通科高としては例のない特別支援教育と才能開発センターとして注目を集めている。

Mamoru Masumoto

Drone(UAV) Airway Designer

Mamoru graduated from the Faculty of Law at Seinan Gakuin University and the Department of Business and Technology Management at Kyushu University's Graduate School of Economics (MBA). After obtaining his degrees, he joined Nippon Telecom (now SoftBank) as a sales representative. In 2014, Mamoru launched a drone business with the founding of TrueBizon. Subsequently, he devised a model to "share the sky" called "sora:share" to enhance the social acceptance of drones, and obtained a business model patent. Mamoru has appeared on numerous programs such as TV Tokyo's "Gaia no Yoake" and TBS's "Gacchiri Monday". 増本 衛: 西南学院大学法学部と九州大学経済学府産業マネジメント学科(MBA)を卒業後、日本テレコム（現在のソフトバンク）に営業職として入社。2014年にトルビズオンを創業し、ドローン事業を立ち上げる。その後、ドローンの社会受容性を高めるための上空シェアリング「sora:share」のモデルを考案し、ビジネスモデル特許を取得した。このビジネスモデルを紹介することで、TV Tokyo「ガイアの夜明け」やTBS「がっちりマンデー」などの番組に多数出演。

Minami Shibata

Painter/creator

Minami has loved to create since she was a child, eventually finding her way into a career in design. She began her creative lifework in 2013, working as an architect. In 2014, she made her way to New York alone, where she held both a solo and group exhibition. After setting up a workshop in her hometown of Fukuoka in 2018, Minami has been working on an art project called "ORINASU – Build with Scrap," in which she reimagines objects traditionally viewed as "trash" and reinvents them as new and innovative works of art to convey the impact of beach cleanups, the reality of what is happening in our oceans, and that innovation can be found, even in places we never imagined. しばた みなみ: 子供の頃から創作している時間が好きで設計の道に進み、 設計士と両立しながら2013年より創作活動を始める。 2014年、単身で渡ったニューヨークでは、個展、グループ展を開催。2018年、地元福岡に作業場を構えてからはビーチクリーンで受けた衝撃、海で起きているリアル、モノにもイノチがあることを伝えるべく 「ゴミ」と呼ばれるモノを新しいイノチ（作品）に蘇らせるアートプロジェクト「ORINASU スクラップでビルド」に取り組む。

Miyuki Kawamura

Polyhedral and geometric-based origami artist

Origami artist. Born in Osaka. While in and out of the hospital due to a chronic illness, Kawamura started origami at the age of 2. She wanted to understand the snake biting area of the Ouroboros, but was frustrated. She went on to a doctoral program in particle theory at Kobe University, but did not complete it, and left when she got married. This was because she had published "Origami of Polyhedra" at her own expense, followed by its publication by Nippon-Hyoron-sha, and her origami work was increasing. After that, she published "Hajimete no Polyhedron Origami" (Polyhedron Origami for Beginners) from Nihon Vogue, and continues to create origami arts. 川村 みゆき: 持病で入退院を繰り返す中、２歳から折紙をはじめる。８歳頃から、大好きだった動物の折紙を創作しはじめるが、中学1年生のころ、雑誌ニュートンに出会い、素粒子と宇宙の関係性に目が眩んで転向する。ウロボロスの蛇が噛んでるあたりを理解したいと思ったが、挫折する。神戸大学の素粒子理論専攻で博士課程まで進むも修了せず、結婚を機に退学した。「多面体の折紙」を自費出版後に日本評論社から出版し、折紙の仕事が増えていたためだった。その後も、日本ヴォーグ社から「はじめての多面体おりがみ」を出版するなどして現在に至る。

Nuren Abedin

Research Fellow, Yunus & Shiiki Social Business Research Center, Kyushu University

Nuren Abedin is working on designing community rideshare based on different community travel demands in developing countries, an alternative transport model to the mainstream transport choices. She has attained her Ph.D. (Doctor of Information Science) in September 2021 from the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE). She was also an affiliated student at the Institute of Decision Science for Sustainable Society (IDS3) of Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. She is an enthusiast for data science, Yunus Social Business, and the use of ICT in solving social issues and achieving SDGs. ヌレン アベディン: 開発途上国における様々なコミュニティの移動需要に基づくコミュニティライドシェアの設計、主流の交通手段の選択肢に代わる交通モデルの設計に取り組む。2021年9月、情報電気工学研究科にて博士号（情報科学）を取得。九州大学持続可能な社会のための意思決定科学研究所（IDS3）（福岡県）にも在籍していた。データサイエンス、ユヌスソーシャルビジネス、社会課題の解決とSDGs達成のためのICT活用を熱心に研究している。

Ryoko Inoue

Innovation Coordinator/Researcher, Social Innovation Lab Kyoto

Inspired by social entrepreneurs, Ryoko switched from her intended career as an international human rights lawyer to work at the Yunus & Shiiki Social Business Research Center, where she was involved in promoting social business, supporting creation, research and education. Ryoko has promoted partnerships with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Grameen Group and overseas educational institutions, and since 2017, has been in charge of a residency program and field study projects at NPO Crossfields, focusing on supporting growth beyond organizational and sectoral boundaries. Ryoko joined Social Innovation Laboratory Kyoto in 2020, aiming to connect Kyoto with other parts of the world through business and social innovations. 井上 良子: 国際人権分野の法律家を目指して司法試験浪人中に出会った社会起業家にインスパイアされ進路を変更。九州大学ユヌス&椎木ソーシャル・ビジネス研究センターでソーシャル・ビジネスの普及促進、創出支援、研究・教育に従事。ムハマド・ユヌス博士やグラミングループ、海外の教育機関等との連携を進める。組織やセクターを越えた成長への伴走を軸に2017年からはNPO法人クロスフィールズで留職プログラムやフィールドスタディ事業を担当。京都から”四方よし”のビジネスやソーシャル・イノベーションを発信しアジア・グローバルとつなげるため、SILKに参画。

Takayuki Konishi

Irish Traditional Dance "Sean Nós" Dancer

Dance: Takayuki Konishi Konishi was awestruck when he first encountered Irish dance while traveling in Ireland. He studied sean nós dance at a local summer school in 2004, and has been leading a practice group since 2007. Music: The Clane The Clane is a traditional Irish music unit with members Yosuke Inoue (fiddle) and Seisuke Ito (flat mandolin). Based in Fukuoka, The Clane performs and hosts sessions throughout Kyushu to promote the joy of Irish music. ダンス： 小西高之 アイルランド旅行中に、アイリッシュ・ダンスに出会い衝撃を受ける。 2004年に現地のサマースクールでシャン・ノース・ダンスを学ぶ。2007年から練習会を主宰している。 音楽：The Clane 井上陽介（フィドル）と伊藤誠亮（フラットマンドリン）によるアイルランド伝統音楽ユニット。福岡を拠点として九州各地で演奏活動やセッションのホストを行い、アイルランド音楽の普及に努めている。

Takushi Sato

Medical doctor

Starting his career in emergency medicine, AMDA board member Dr. Sato turned his focus to disaster relief, a move that found him on medical missions to Sudan and Cambodia, after assisting Afghan refugees in 2002 with Peshawar-kai. After being involved with AMDA, he was the driving force behind emergency relief activities for the 2016 earthquake in Kumamoto, Japan and 2016 cholera outbreak in Haiti. In 2022, he was dispatched to Hungary to assist with the Ukraine humanitarian crisis. As an endoscopy and emergency medicine specialist, Dr. Sato provides technical guidance to Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS) and other medical institutions overseas. 佐藤 拓史: 救急医療、国内外の災害医療に携わる。2002年ペシャワール会のアフガニスタン難民医療支援活動参加以降、スーダンでの内視鏡支援やカンボジアの医療支援などの活動をする。特定非営利活動法人AMDAの緊急人道支援活動に参加し、熊本地震、ハイチのコレラアウトブレイク、2022年ウクライナ人道危機等に派遣される。医療技術支援としては、ネパールでの内視鏡技術支援、モンゴル国立医科大学招聘教授として内視鏡技術移転、またウランバートル救急サービスで救命救急の講義と実践を実施。モンゴル保健大臣より名誉勲章が授与される。特定非営利活動法人AMDA理事。

Tatsuo Kuzuhara

Cook on a Country Hill

After graduating from culinary school, Tatsuo worked his way through the restaurant industry. Following the explosive rise of his own restaurant and impacts from outbreaks of mad cow disease, Tatsuo returned to his hometown after suffering a serious illness. Honing his craft as a ""cook on a country hill"", he opened a satoyama restaurant in Fukuchi Town in 2018, which has attracted attention in recent years with the creation of ""Laughing Tickets"" for children's cafeterias. Tatsuo aims to find solutions to problems affecting society today, such as vacant houses, shortage of people ready and able to carry things forward into the next generation, and issues faced by single mothers. 葛原 辰夫: 福岡県田川郡出身。肉が苦手だったにも関わらず洋食のコックさんに憧れ、調理師専門学校に進学する。卒業後はロイヤルホスト一号店に就職して経験を積む。順調に経営してきたレストランを急拡大したことや狂牛病に加え、大病を患い、故郷に戻る。2018年に福智町に里山レストランをオープンし人気を集める。「笑品券」を使った子ども食堂事業への参入して注目されている。今後は空き家問題、後継者不足の問題、シングルマザーの悩みなどに注目して社会問題の解決を目指す。

Yoshiko Ishibashi

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) ＆Emotional Intelligence workshop facilitator/trainer

After attending junior and senior high school in the U.S., Yoshiko Ishibashi took on a position at a global media company after graduating university, and has devoted time to exploring her interests in counseling, Pilates and yoga, mindfulness and coaching over the years. She completed training in SEL and EQ (Social Emotional Learning and Emotional Intelligence) in the U.S. and currently offers EQ courses and workshops for parents, educators, and human resource professionals. Ishibashi provides spaces for people to learn, discover and connect with their inner selves on her quest to helping others live life to the fullest and stay true to what is in their hearts. 石橋 芳子: 中学・高校を米国で過し大学卒業後、海外メディアに勤務。その後カウンセリング、ピラティス＆ヨガ、マインドフルネス、コーチング等を学ぶ。SEL・EQ（社会性感情学習・感情的知性）の研修を米国で積み、現在は保護者や教育＆人材育成関係者向けにEQ講座＆ワークショップを開催。「学び、気づき、そして自分の内面と繋がる場」を提供し「自分の心に誠実に後悔のない人生を生きる」をテーマに活動中。
