Jasser Riahi

Tunisian activist and student researcher in public law
Jasser is a law student studying for a Master's in Public Law, having earned a University Diploma in Private Law from the Faculty of Legal, Political, and Social Sciences of Tunis. Born in Hammamet in 2000, he has been actively involved in civil society since 2014, focusing on promoting culture and reinforcing democracy and citizenship among Tunisian youth. In 2020, he founded the Nefaal Association. As a debater, Jasser has participated in numerous televised debates on the Tunisian revolution and democracy, achieving top positions in various legal competitions. In addition to his academic and professional commitments, he founded the Public Policies Club at the Faculty of Legal, Political, and Social Sciences of Tunis, where he continues to promote discussion and innovation in public policies.

Maya Karkour

An Environmental and Circular Economy Specialist, an Eco-Entrepreneur, and the Managing Director of EcoConsulting, a specialized sustainability consultancy which she founded in 2003 in the UK and in 2007 in Lebanon. She has been since 2022 the Chair of the EcoSwitch Coalition for green entrepreneurs in Lebanon. Maya has directly worked on numerous projects aiming at reducing their environmental footprint. She has been a keynote speaker or moderator at various sustainability/environmental conferences in Lebanon and other countries; and has organized and conducted numerous sustainability, green building, circular economy and environmental seminars & workshops. She has been coaching environmental start-ups with innovative entrepreneurial solutions and is mentoring eco or social entrepreneurs to help them establish themselves and scale up. Maya has been actively promoting the Circular Economy and sustainable practices in Lebanon, more recently by launching the Circular Hub.

All of this was achieved in an environment dedicated to continuous learning and growth. Mona was also able to grow the percentage of women within the organization over the years by 169% giving more opportunities for women to thrive in the tech industry. Nour Hazem

Short Term Consultant at GIZ Egypt - Project Manager
Nour is a Research and Development Assistant at Banlastic Egypt. She is a passionate political science graduate with over 5 years of experience in the field of climate Justice. She is actively working on empowering young people in the field of climate action where she has conducted over 30 sessions to more than 300 young people all over Egypt. Furthermore, she is a member of the Rule of Law Youth Network under South programme V of the Council of Europe and the European Union where she is working on tackling environmental corruption using a gendered lens. In 2023, Nour worked as a consultant with the GIZ where she contributed to the development of the Future of ICT jobs and the Future of Green jobs in Egypt Reports as well as the organization of the 2nd National Forum on the Future of Work in Egypt. Additionally, she developed an incubator under UN Women’s Programme Rabeha, where she supported 30 young Egyptian women with the skills to empower them to open their own green businesses.
