Theme: The Future Is Now

Twelve young students from local high schools are sharing various ideas ranging from Technology, Science, Art, Education and humanities. It is a fun filled yet thought provoking event organized by youth. The TEDx Evans Youth, is first of its kind to be hled in Evans, GA. Excited and motivated students want to make this program an annual event in Evans.

Aadi Patel

Student

Aadi Patel is a sophomore at Lakeside High School, Evans, GA. He is enrolled in the Pre-IB program at his school. His passion for the arts stems from his love for finding different forms of expression. Aadi has a love for science and art and strives to find ways to combine the two to get a new view of things. He plans on pursuing a career in either Architecture or Biology. He is also a member of the Toastmaster Internationals’ Gavel Club.

Akshara Birthi

Student

Akshara Birthi is a junior at Lambert High School, Suwanee, GA. Her hobbies include sketching, baking, cooking, and biking. She is a Girl Scout and a volunteer at a local environmental club. Akshara is involved in extracurricular activities such as Green Cell, an environmental club, NTHS, and NHS. She is currently working on Girls Scouts project to create fidget blankets to help Dementia patients relax and improve their cognitive functions. Akshara plans to major in Public Health in college.

Alya Akhtar

Alya Akhtar is an IB senior at Lakeside High School, Evans, GA. She is the Region 6 Representative of Georgia HOSA. She is also the HOSA Technology and Communications Coordinator, President of NHS, member of the Executive Committee of Youth Board, and the treasurer for both Mu Alpha Theta and Spanish National Honor Society. Alya is a part of the School’s Track and Field team. She loves public speaking and is always willing to better herself.

Anshuman Khadanga

Student

Anshuman Khadanga is a sophomore at Lakeside High School. He is a musician who has been honing his craft on the trombone for the past five years. An avid lover of nature, Anshuman delights in hiking trails and camping in the great outdoors. He is also a dedicated volunteer, devoting much of his free time to helping others. Anshuman is also a member of his local Toastmasters Gavel Club. He wants to pursue a career in healthcare.

Bharat Ram Susarla

Student

Bharat Ram Susarla is a Junior at FCS Innovation Academy STEM Magnet High School, Alpharetta, GA. He is passionate about science and its applications towards the welfare of mankind and our ecosystem. His hobbies are visiting national parks and playing chess. Bharat is an active member of the Toastmaster Internationals’ Gavel Club.

Cheyenne Young

Student

Cheyenne Young is a junior at Lakeside High School, Evans, GA. She is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program. She is a member of the Marching band and the Varsity Winter Guard. She works in the field of advocacy for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Above all, she seeks to help people in the way she likes to be treated.

Kunsh Sharma

Student

Kunsh Sharma is a junior at Lakeside High School in the IB Program. He is actively involved in his school’s Varsity Soccer Team, band’s Wind Ensemble, and local Boy Scout Troop. Additionally, participation in science competitions, such as Science Bowl and Olympiad, piqued his interest in sleep's psychological and neurological effects. Kunsh is curious about the correlation between physicals and academics in life.

Mahi Patel

Mahi Patel is an 8th grader at Evans Middle School, Evans, GA. She loves public speaking because she believes it helps her with her career prospect as a lawyer. She loves reading, creative writing, and listening to music. Mahi is a member of Toastmasters International Gavel Club where she learns to improve communication and leadership skills.

Matias Riveros-Amado

Matias Rivderos-Amado is currently a sophomore at Lakeside High School whose strong suit is mathematics. Matias interests are music, video editing, and coding. He is a member of Toastmasters International Gavel club where he learns to enhance communication and leadership skills. His passion ranges from tennis to number theory. He loves to learn about everything.

Robert Reynolds

Robert Reynolds is a Junior at Lakeside High School, Evans, GA. He is very interested in reading, social justice, and the environment. Robert's hobbies include running, rock climbing, learning about space and astronomy. He loves helping people to make the world a better place. He is excited to share his experience on the problems regarding homelessness and is eager to find possible solutions for the issue.

Srishti Gotam

Student

Srishti Gotam is a 7th grader at Stallings Island Middle School, Evans, GA. She is a member of Academic Bowl, Beta Club, Model United Nations, Writing Club, and Debate Team at her school. She is a recipient of the John’s Award. Shristi involves herself in the community activities to learn communication skills, creative thinking, and teamwork. She embraces cultures that allows to spread knowledge. Shristi aspires to become an innovative entrepreneur in technology.

Theerth Srinivasan

Student

Theerth Srinivasan is a sophomore at Lakeside High School and is enrolled in the IB program. He is a member of the Scouts of America and on his way to receive his Eagle Scout badge. He is extremely interested in the field of mathematics and science. Theerth is a part of several clubs at his school. He is a member of Toastmasters Internationals’ Gavel club where he is learning to improve his communication and leadership skills.
