Theme: Paving the Road: How Success is Created

There are different meanings of being successful. Being successful doesn’t only mean being wealthy or having a high social status. It also could mean being happier, fortunate, stressless, etc. Therefore, these successes are formed through various paths. This idea would help the reader to understand the different steps by which success could be created. It ultimately allows the listeners to reflect on the path to being successful and provides one with a sense of purpose, particularly once a goal has been reached, as this may then result in one’s productivity or satisfaction.

As a 7th grade student attending TCIS, my current interests include reading books, dancing, and delving into the fascinating world of psychology. Reading books allows me to explore different perspectives and gain insight into how people analyze the world around them. I find myself eagerly anticipating the next chapter and experiencing a range of emotions as I immerse myself in the author's words. Dancing to popular songs is another passion of mine, as I am able to express my emotions through physical movement and feel invigorated as I learn new dance techniques. The synchronization of my body and feelings is a truly exhilarating experience that fuels my passion for dancing. My interest in psychology stems from the desire to better understand the people around me and their emotions. I enjoy exploring how different individuals approach various situations and how their moods and thoughts affect those around them. The subject of psychology excites me

Phebe Davis

Phebe Davis discusses the foundation for success in our lives. She starts by defining success as achieving a goal and mentions that success can be found in the simplest things in life. She believes that discovering our motivations, perspectives, and personal expectations can determine the foundation we can build to succeed in our endeavours. She is currently a Choir teacher at TCIS. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

Raihan Aji

Raihan Kurnia Aji is a curious Indonesian student in a Korean high school called Woosong High School. Raihan is a curious person who is curious about many things such as his own hobby, the current political situation and the way to become a good teacher since he wants to be a Korean language teacher. His favourite hobby is a Gundam plastic model kit where he has to build a robot and paint it if he wants to. Raihan loves the idea of being a Korean language teacher since he is fluent in Korean and he wants to teach Korean to his future students once he becomes a teacher.

Seoyeon Kang

I'm Seoyeon Kang and I'm a seventh-grade student who just started attending TCIS. I've always been passionate about zoology since I was a child, particularly since I grew up in Australia and have a deep love for animals. Along with my love for science, I also enjoy writing as a hobby and have a competitive personality. I try to seize every opportunity that comes my way and have an interest in art, as well as being a skilled swimmer. While I don't consider myself an overachiever, I'm motivated to do my best and excel in anything I do.

Creating a path to success by practising the trumpet requires dedication, persistence, and a clear goal in mind. To start, set specific and achievable practice goals and make a consistent practice schedule. Focus on developing good technique and mastering the fundamentals, then gradually increase the difficulty of the exercises and pieces you play. Seeking guidance and feedback from a skilled teacher or mentor can also be very helpful. Additionally, seek out opportunities to perform in front of an audience, whether it be in school, community events, or competitions. By working hard, staying committed, and continually seeking to improve, anyone can create a successful path with trumpet playing. My name is Toby and I'm a current 10th grader at TCIS. I played the trumpets for 6 years. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

I'm Yuhee Kim, currently in 8th grade. I'm from El Paso, Texas, and I've lived there for over 10 years. It's my first semester in TCIS, however, I was here for 6th grade. I speak Korean and English, but I'm more fluent in English than I am in Korean. I like to think of myself as a lighthearted person, or at least I hope I am. For interests, I enjoy reading a lot, especially the classics. However, I also like murder mysteries and non-fiction. I can do some fiber arts (crochet, needlework), although I'm still a beginner at them.

My passion for creative writing and reading is all-consuming, and I relish in exploring the depths of my imagination. Although I am not necessarily focused on academic achievements, I enjoy showcasing my artistic flair from time to time.

My name is Yuni Kim, and I am a senior in TCIS. As an activist, I love questioning what role each piece of society plays in perpetuating injustices. I am especially invested in understanding how social media impacts modern society, and especially the philosophical perception of generation Zs. I hope to unpack the pressing role of online interaction through my talk. Other than that, I also love music, art, poetry, science, and philosophy.
