There is a drawing in the art work, but also there is a blank space. The blank space and the drawing shine each other, and the synergy finally completes the masterpiece. However, looking back at us who live by making an art work called life, we only learn how to draw, but we might have never properly learned how to deal with blank spaces. Through TEDxSNU 2023 Summer Event, we want to provide audience a chance to appreciate the beauty and meaning of blank space by telling the stories of those who have discovered the unnoticed power of blank space and added meaning to their art works.

BAEK.co Co-Founder
Have you ever wondered why there is no space for yourself in such a large city? We need a place where my sincere and precious activities can be realized even if it’s not an activity that makes money. With less cost, effort, and courage than you think, you can have a ‘blank’ space that is independent of the world. We inspire you that little bit of courage.Dong Hyun Kim
Photographer
There’s no reason to separate MUT(fashion) from getting old. However, senior fashion still remains unnoticeable as a blank in our perception about MUT(fashion). In this reality, there is a photographer who specializes in senior fashion working in his own philosophy of MUT(fashion). Let’s listen to a story about the blank of MUT(fashion) that we didn’t pay attention to and making ‘MUT(Fashion)’ itself shine brighter through dealing with the blank of MUT(Fashion).Jake Suh
Head of Proper Sleep Institute
At some point, our society began to regard sleep time as a waste. Is 'living hard' and 'sleeping well' incompatible? We’re going to tell the story of the Proper Sleep Research Institute, which tries to correct the wrong perception of sleep and create a society where everyone can sleep well.Jeong Eun Lee
Font Designer
There are black letters and white spaces in various fonts that we encounter every day. We invite you to the world of font design, where intense adjustments take place within the realms of black and white. We also tell the story of how the local area Gaehang-ro, which was almost left as a blank space, has been transformed into a lively space full of dynamic movement through the creation of Gaehang-ro font, which was promoted based on interest and belief in the potential of Gaehang-ro.Jinman Jo
Architect
The core value of architecture lies in forming relationships with the surroundings, rather than the convenience and beauty it provides. From architecture of function through the "potential of spatial uncertainty" for those relationships, our daily lives become richer and meaningful. The true completion of architecture is to create a lively uncertainty that people can fill creatively then to lead us into it.Organizing team
